K. K. Downing left Judas Priest in 2011. Ever since then, they've had Richie Faulkner in his place - a couple of albums here and there with Dirty Deeds and Lauren Harris must have convinced the others, because he was still there when they recorded Redeemer Of Souls last year. Not too shabby considering he wasn't even born until Priest already had five albums, and was shitting in a nappy when his future bandmates were touring British Steel.

So that leaves only Ian Hill, who has spent his entire career with Judas Priest standing at the back of the stage, out the way, trying not to be noticed...

I wouldn't bet any money on them being the last performers of metal, though. It's in better health in 2015 than at any previous point in history, through sheer weight of numbers - when only the bands from the 1970s actually dying over the next decade or so will cause any significant reduction, and for every band that drops, ten to twenty more spring up in their place, some of them in parts of the world nobody would ever have thought of.
