I'm assuming you found it after all that driving, or you'd be complaining :-)

I still have a hellish time telling long-billed from short-billed dowitchers in non-breeding plumage. I certainly wouldn't want to make that call on a wandering rarity.

It's certainly a long way from Cambridge, let alon Yorkshire. having looked at a picture of the beast I doubt I would have recognised it had I seen it.
