Amanda Knox and her ex-boyfriend were both freed after their convictions in the murder of Meredith Kercher were overturned, after serving 4 years in prison.

Holy. Cow.

I don't know enough about the case to say it's right or just, or that it's not, but. Just. Holy cow.

Yeah.. did you hear CNN's quote about how 45% of cases appealed in the Italian courts are overthrown? Says something bout their courts.

I am not sure what to think really. The evidence for the two of them was circumstantial at best, the third guy could actually be placed at the scene. The forensics team that worked the case horribly bungled it so much that the DNA was ruined and at appeal was found that it wasn't possible to even use, and shouldn't have been used in the first case. There was so much doubt on the case that in the Canadian or American courts, they should have never been convicted (reasonable doubt after all). They really seemed to have railroaded the two of them. But at the same point, I'm trying to understand why the Italian police focused on the two of them so much.. I feel like there had to be something there. I feel horrible in a way for thinking that they may not be innocent...
