I am! But I don't log in much. Plus, I think it is different when someone is recommending a book directly to a person. Like there are a lot of books I've enjoyed that I might think that a particular person might not enjoy as much.

I can't find you there. Find me and add me?

I was asking because it's easy then for me to go through your list and see what kind of things you like, and then go through my list of books and see if there are some you might like and recommend them at a click of a button.

For blogs, I like BoingBoing.com a lot. I used to read 3quarksdaily.com a lot but it got to be overwhelming. Really interesting stuff there though.

I would recommend the following two books to just about everyone:
Crazy Like Us: The Globalization of the American Psyche by Ethan Watters
Bad Science: Quacks, Hacks, and Big Pharma Flacks by Ben Goldacre

I assume you're already reading things like Jezebel.com (or any/all the gawker sites). They update like a million times a day (so much, that I barely actually read them).

Other sites:
thefrisky.com
apartmenttherapy.com
theawl.com
notalwaysright.com
MAKE and CRAFT's blogs
toplessrobot.com
awkwardfamilyphotos.com
cakewrecks.com
thereifixedit.com
abortiongang.org
sundaymagazine.org
longform.org
informationisbeautiful.net
likecool.com
consequenceofsound.net (good place for new musics)
thesartorialist.com
realadultsex.com (mostly sfw)
sexisnottheenemy.tumblr.com (TOTALLY NSFW)
thebeautifulkind.com (ALSO REALLY NSFW)

You could also check out reddit or fark for topics of interest.

There is a lot of awesomeness here and hopefully I will comment on more of it later, but sexisnottheenemy is AWESOME. People engaged in sexual activity who look happy? Who would have figured that would seem so radical?
