[picspam] Long-Haired Reid!!!
So, I was trying to decide what my first post to this journal would be about. Last night's Criminal Minds was made of amazing win, and I definitely have some comments to make about it, but I think I'm going to save everything up until next week and then do a 'Season Four Thus Far' post. But still, I wanted to post something! I'm all impatient and stuff!
There is really something out there that I'm still really missing on Criminal Minds. This has doubtless been my favorite season thus far (although that might be affected by the fact that it's the first season I've watched while it was airing instead of later on DVD), but still ... I miss Reid's ridiculously long hair. Don't get me wrong; I adore his new haircut to death, but there was something so awesome about his almost-inappropriately long hair that I feel it should be memorialized.
With that said, allow me to present to you:
As far as I can tell, Reid did not get a single haircut after season 2 (and no, we don't want to remember the short SHORT hair and the nerdy glasses!), but it didn't become noticeablely long until half-way through season three, when the ends got all flippy and curly and it would just wave magically through the air around Reid's pretty, pretty face. (It's obvious that I still haven't moved on yet.)
The following pictures are from early season three, when Reid was still recovering from his abduction and subsequent addiction to Dilaudid as well as Gideon's abandonment of his team departure.
The wonderful irony, of course, is that Morgan was the character who commented on Reid's new haircut in 4x02, "The Angel Maker." I'm fairly certain that, even though Garcia is the character who's known for the crazy hair styles and colors, Reid's character is the only one who has his hair commented on ('Boogeyman,' in Season 2, 'Tabula Rasa,' Season Three, and then once more this season). Apparently, no one can resist the hair!!!
So, the dimensions in this one are a little funky, but nonetheless, there is something else that I would like to point out here: Reid is hot. Reid looks really amazing in dark colors. I doubt that the show will ever put him into a pair of jeans, but as long as they keep him in the coal grays and navy blues, I'll keep my complaints down to a minimum. ;)

As I continue looking through the collection of pictures I have, I'm beginning to have some difficulties telling which pictures are from late season 2/early season 3, which are from the middle of season three, and which are from when Reid could have had Morgan Hotch Rossi climb up his locks to free him from his locked room inside of the castle. (Reid-punzle!!!)
These pictures are too ambiguous for me, so enjoy the continuation of nature's (amazing) work!!!
(This moment hops into my mind every time I get into the elevator here at school to go to the 9th floor conference room. Damn you, CM, for exposing this fear!!!)
The ambiguity here comes from the fact that I really can't see that much of Reid's hair, but the reason for its inclusion comes from the fact that, OMG REID USES BOTH HANDS. Seriously, ambidexterity is HOT. *melts*

There is no question here. This is the point where we start wondering: does Reid need to start wearing a hair net when he's at a crime scene? Despite the fact that sometimes Reid's hair was a little unwashed-looking and flying all over the place, this was the high point for me. Maybe it's because he looked even more delicate when his hair was this long. Maybe because I like long-haired geekboys. Maybe because I'm just a bad person infering that Reid wasn't cutting his hair because he was recovering from trauma ... *winks* Nonetheless, this is the golden age of Reid's long hair!
Remember this fondly, friends! And perhaps, one day, the hair artists on the set will decide to mutiny once more and refuse to touch MGG's hair and it'll all grow back (and maybe this time, Garcia will get in on the action and braid little beads into his hair BECAUSE THAT WOULD PRETTY MUCH MAKE MY LIFE, KTHXBYE!)

This isn't really related to the picspam, but my god, how awesome is MGG? I mean, seriously, one twitch of the lips and you don't need to know a thing about reading people to know what's going on inside of Reid's head. Seriously, he's so great at expressing! I just want to put him in my pocket and take him home with me and do things to him.
"Elephant's Memory" ... when compairing it now with "The Instincts" and "Memoriam," it's not as powerful, but damn, it's been too long since I've re-watched it (*adds to To Do list for this evening*).
And there you have it! To Reid's S3 hair: you will be missed (by me, at least)! You will live on forever in my hard drive and on my DVD player!
