Once Scorpius chose a birthday gift for his mother, he and Albus bid goodbye to Luna Lovegood. Scorpius shook his head as they exited the gift shop. "Word travels fast," he said.
"Promise me something," said Albus. "In case people confront us separately, let's make a resolution to always talk to one another before believing anything anyone else says."
"That sounds ominous," Scorpius chuckled, hoping to lighten the mood.
"I'm a Slytherin," said Albus. "I am suspicious of others' motives by nature."
"Were you suspicious of my motives?" asked Scorpius.
Al grinned at him. "Not when they mirrored my own."
