cardboard and metal

Jun 27, 2011 20:17

I've got a lot of cardboard and metal in my garage. I'm pretty sure I'd like to sell the metal for scrap, so where can I go for that. As for the cardboard, is there a place that will buy it off me? Names of businesses and/or locations would be extra helpful. Thanks.

no one will buy cardboard from you. That's like a homeless person listing his TV box in the real estate section.

It also depends on what type of metal you have. Regular steel sells for crap, but if it's aluminium than take it to Wyoming and Menual or Eubank and Menual, I forget where the metal buyer moved to. You could try selling steel, but you won't get much at all.

It isn't unheard of for recycling companies to pay for cardboard. Maybe in ABQ, or all of NM for that matter, the practice is unheard of, but it's not so far fetched in other parts of the country.

I've got a lot of metal and if I can get $10 bucks for it, yays! That's $10 more I have on grocery day. Or PNM-bill-paying day. Plus it gives me an excuse to get out of the house and go for a drive. Thanks.

Mostly disassembled large parrot cages, carts, steel rims and a car hood somewhere out back in my dads yard, pipes, remnants of an old shed. Bunch of junk. It's all pretty much regular steel or aluminum. Nothing "fancy" like copper or brass.

There is definitely a place in town that buys cardboard. This is going to sound vague, but all I know is that you get to Kinney Brick and then take the first right turn. My boss takes truckloads of cardboard there almost every weekday, and they pay by weight, not quantity (sometimes she gets $12, sometimes $18). You have to unload the cardboard yourself.

Hope that helps! If I find out the name, I'll add it.

Okay, apparently it's called McKinley and it's located at 4600 Williams Street SE.
