anyone know what's going on in the unm area. princeton lead/silver area? streets blocked by cops. helicopter with a rifle toting cop in it.

hmmm..... i live on princeton and it's 2:30 am... got home about 20 minutes ago.. didn't notice anything unusual though.

nope..

lastnight S.W.A.T with a k9 unit searched every back yard along vassar, and then packed up everything and did the same on princeton, and then columbia.

i called channel13, they said they knew there was a "swat activity in the area" but didnt have any details, channel 4 said "duh what?"

nothing on abqjournal, krqe, thenewmexicochannel, dukecityfix,or any of my other news resources.

I was talking to a security gaurd, they couldn't find out anything with a police scanner, they were being really quiet about it.

APD uses a dual Trunking system, S.W.A.T. is using a encrypted digital trunk system. nearly impossible to scan, standard dispatch is on a non encrypted EDACS trunked system which is fairly scanable. i was sad that i was pinned down at a friends house and so i could not get to my scanner's and listen. sometimes you can get more from the news helicopter radios, (although there was a police helicopter at the start of whatever it was) there were no news copters.
