I love looking up wiki! XD also there's Maia, how gave birth to Hermes (after Zeus secretly had sex with her, nice). And there's Maja, which means "pretty." Heroes choose their names carefully, I don’t think Maya is an exception.

Just the whole angel thing when she found out his name and her religious background got me thinking. I like to think it was a call back for him.

Oh my god.

I have to say, I'm honored to have such a nice fic as a gift. Every word is perfect. I love all his selves, but like these things, esp. the structures, there's kind of a hollowness. It's his crutch.

His focus on birth is especially creepy but very true. Yet he knows the truth himself. I think that all those selves, without a real...I don't know base, he feels boring. :/

god, the glass sphere imagery. It's either holy or very uh...but man, I thought religiously but it's his mother there too...It's so him, just the whole thing, and for a character with so much, that's very difficult to capture in a few words. And you definitely did.

This is so beautiful. Thank you, for giving me this. I really appreciate it, and it was an awesome surprise to find.

Awwww you’re very welcome!! Yup, I think he shuts himself away, makes himself appear boring so he’ll be left alone and thus left to exist in his own world, no one to intrude. I imagine he has these overblown fantasies where he’s super special but unlike “Sylar” who’s acting it for real like his life depends on it Gabriel knows it’s fake and instead of making him feel fulfilled it has a hollowing effect.

(I got the Annunciation from the show. In his crazy back room he had postcards of it which I thought was very interesting)

Oh wow, this is really fantastic. Beautifully descriptive imagery as always, and you do a great job of getting into his head. I can definitely see him having that complex inner life, so to speak. I love the contrast between his fantasy and reality, and the last line is a perfect little hint of what's to come.

Just one little typo to point out...I think you meant "Grand Canyon." ;)

Wee thanks! I was reading about his mental condition again and I think he's what you call a "shy narcissist" ei: he lets himself feel special at the fantasy level, not in reality for fear of being hurt.
