I have a slight obsession with young nuns, they’re like baby pigeons: you don’t see them!

I researched nuns and novices a lot for this. I knew that Maya would need a new name but one that wasn't too different. I picked Lucia after Saint Lucy who had her eyes torn out or did it herself. I wanted an eye connection. And Lucy also means “light.”

I loved the juxtaposition of their emotional reactions. Just as on the show he becomes solemn and depressed about being plain old Gabriel Gray again. Maya on the other hand experiences a flash of childlike wonder. On the show it’s completely unrestrained while here it’s like someone pulling a curtain aside for a moment. I like to think he’s left a little startled at her reaction, bemused. He’s just promoted himself to a nobody but she’s just seen a ray of sunshine.I really love this part and how you describe it. I too have the same thoughts about Maya being a virgin, but then I have personal canon with her and Gilberto. Gabriel is a virgin wish was hared for me to swallow at first, but he's such a big pretender.

I love little prop detail on the show. He had so many postcards of it. He was obsessed.
She is cut off but it makes you wonder for how long. Would she still be there if he returned? Would she follow him/be forced to leave? Yeah I can see him justifying her/his actions if things go wrong.

2) the Company squad that had been following Sylar finds Maya instead. Either she gets captured or runs. I also had this image where Sylar comes back and finds all these SWAT guys dead, crying black.

I had two ideas:
1) Florentina dies and Maya leaves for New York.
