Sad. :/ But true. (I kinda resented Martin hearing the news as well...lol. Gabriel couldn't allow him to be happy I guess? Seems like him. But I like the change of pace, with Martin showing some regret for leaving Gabriel with some so sick and also in need of help).

I like that they use a back of a clock as a name plate. It makes me wonder what happens when it stops.

LOL 'never thought I'd hear that'. Oh man.

(I think he was holding onto that resent to and while he came to understand with age why he left he's still disappointed. In a passive aggressive way.)

The clock: Maya threw it out the window. Heehee :x

lol being stuck in that shop for ever I don't think Gabriel thought it would happen, like ever :P

Aww man. Gabriel and Martin. Wow! And this wedged in between "Choke" and "Samaritan". And let me tell you I'm glad you all had me read The Stand because it makes me appreciate this all the more.

They are like a kind of version of RF and Nadine.

Gabriel going to his father to get the clock ... the whole interaction

I'm in awe. :D

Well done Tammy.

I'm gonna read again.

he was bursting with news.

And that crack his father made about not expecting his son to have his own family.

Wow.

As this veers off from canon I wanted them to know each other, though estranged. Gabriel did say that his dad never gave him a choice about the shop and that his parents weren't bad people, so yeah.

One of the things I loved about The Stand was how they carried on living. It's definitely been an influencing writing this. I bet Gabriel liked Flagg, maybe based his Sylar act on some elements.

Aww thank you, I had most of it done but wasn't sure if I wanted to add anything else but I'm ok with it now. More to come ;)

More to come! *happy dance*

agree that he looked up to Flagg in a way. Flagg was special ... and had power and didn't regret much, if anything at all. But Gabe's got more heart.
