After checking the bushes, Sherlock and Gregory climb back up and John meets them a few meters away from Simpson.
Sherlock is amused to see that John's ears are tinged a bit red - whatever Simpson said had been embarrassing.

He cocks one eyebrow questiongly, but John fixes him with such a dark look, that Sherlock can only shrug and turn back to the Inspector.

"Your man is innocent," Sherlock states and Gregory spreads his hands. "He is the only suspect I have so far and as long as you can not name me another, I am going to keep him."
"I will, as soon as I have all the facts," Sherlock answers and turns around to leave.

"Where are you going?" the Inspector calls after him.
"Into the moor, collecting more data!" Sherlock answers without stopping.

"Anything else you can tell me?" Gregory continues to ask the leaving detective. "Anything I should pay attention to?"
"To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time!" Sherlock calls over his shoulder back, continuing to go deeper into the moor.

"But the dog did nothing in the night-time," Gregory splutters perplexed and John, who has taken a few steps after Sherlock, turns back and grins at him.
John winks, before following Sherlock again. "That is the curious incident, Inspector. Good bye!"
