Title: Games of Life
Theme: July Writing Prompt #12 - July 28
Prompt: Olympics
[Details]
This can be a tie-in with the previous generalized games prompt, something totally different, refer to ancient Greece, or not really have any Olympic connection whatsoever - just as long as you're inspired in some way by the Olympics or a related subject.

Author: alaylith
Rating: PG
Universe: BBC
Characters: Sherlock
WordCount: 206
Summary: Sherlock realizes that some aspects of life are more important his work.

A/N: Felt kinda uninspired by this prompt and only had little time to write today. Besides I feel a bit sick. ._.
Nevertheless I am quite satisfied with this fill, even thoug I wish I could polish it a bit more...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sherlock is the first to admit that there are several things that he is not good at.
But like the Olympics he does not have to excel in every discipline - there are enough in which you are able to earn a medal.
Until a certain point in his life Sherlock thought that he knew all his disciplines and that he was able to play and win all the games he needed for his work.
After meeting John Watson he realised that the other games are important, too. Sometimes even more important than those he excels in.
While he easily gets Gold in his chosen games, he now has to try games he never played before.
And especially in those games it is so very important to win.
Having seen the anger in John’s eyes and heard the rejection in his voice - a loss did never sting so much as in that moment, when John evaded his touch and left.
So Sherlock does what he always did when meeting an obstacle - he does everything in his power to grow stronger, better (be a good man) and to finally win the game of friendship.
Because John is more worth than any Gold in one of his detective games.
