When Watson opens the door to their sitting room he can not help but feel disappointed that Holmes is not there.

Holmes was quite excited about the new case and Watson knew that he would like to start investigating as soon as possible.

Watson still hoped that Holmes would wait for him, after all he always insists that they are partners, but his action of leaving the flat speaks differently.

With a sigh Watson sits down at the table to their still warm breakfast and looks up surprised when he sees a little note stuck to his plate.

< Just left to get new tobacco. Will be back soon and then we can start investigating.

The game is afoot!

PS: Did you really think I would leave without you, my friend? >

A small smile tugs at Watson’s lips, the words warm his heart more than Holmes’ action was able to hurt him.

With newfound energy he starts to eat, so that they can start their work as soon as Holmes returns.
