Cassandra Claire has just posted the final chapter of Draco Veritas at Fiction Alley. Regardless of whether you like or hate the fic, like or hate the author, or even like or hate HP fanfic in general, it's the end of an era.

O_O Really now? I didn't even remember that it was still a WIP. I haven't reread that series in YEARS. I remember the first time I read it, I stayed up until 4AM staring at the computer for HOURS without stopping.

I know. I think I first encountered it when DV was at Ch 14, in July 2004. I read up to that point, then decided to wait until the rest of it was finished, not realising that it would be two years. I don't think I can start at Ch15 and pick it up - I think I'll have to start at the beginning again.

I think you might be the only LotR friend I know that's also familiar with Fictionalley.
(Although I haven't actually visited there in a long time.)

Well, I've very passive in HP - I only read; I don't write, comment or participate in discussion groups. It's a fandom that seems to suffer from more than its fair share of strange people (for an extreme example see here.

I was fifteen when I started reading that. And now I am twenty! *feels oddly bereft, even though I haven't been excited about updates for a few years*
