I quite like this. I enjoyed the two Q and the various conversations; marital dissatisfaction over childrearing, mutual dislike of hobbies, etc. It's just very pleasing to read conversations revolving around sex that are actually about attraction of mind, spirit and body, not just about satisfying biological urges.
I hadn't remembered a potential romance between Janeway and Chakotay, or Chakotay and Seven, but Janeway's reactions felt very realistic, and from what I recall, the voice of each character is spot-on.
I don't generally like stories focused on sex, but I trust you enough now that I checked it out anyways. As usual, it was the right choice. A mature use of what could have been an immature idea. Thanks
That was fun! I'm always up for some Q, and you have the voices down really well! I found Janeway's thoughts and motivations very believable, too. And I loved the part at the beginning about Chakotay and Seven; especially this line: She had all the empathy of a teenager -- point out someone in pain to her and she could be very compassionate, but her default was to never notice anyone else's personal drama, because she was too busy figuring out her own. That's very insightful, and a lovely way to describe that aspect of Seven.
She was more than a little ashamed of admitting that to herself, but pretending that there was no awakened pulse between her legs at the thought of having him at her mercy, vulnerable, powerless and not behaving like a smarmy arrogant ass
