Not the Finish A Thon, but close enough.

So I have lately been consumed by a desire to write Q. Which is annoying because I was *trying* to work on my original fic, but anything that has me outputting somewhere around 15,000 words a week can't be all bad. I have decided to ride this out until I get sick of him again, given how many Q fics I have started and not finished. I could seriously ( Read more... )

I picked original fic, because I'm contrarian like that.

I can't decide! I like Burning Time and Working in Groups very much, but I just discovered Prometheus in Chains and am dying to find out what the hell is going on with Magneto and the Theocracy - obviously, it's not simply an AU version of Erik Lensherr living in the future on a different world, because he alludes to his past in a concentration camp. But on the other hand, there's been no mention of mutants, and I've never encountered the Theocracy in my admittedly limited acquaintance with Marvel canon. So was he magically spirited away to a human colony in the Trek verse? Or is this an AU of X-Men Earth, and Q isn't in the "present" or the Star Trek universe at all? But then again I'd also love the Best of Both Worlds thing!

Well, it actually is an AU version of Erik Lehnsherr. It's just that the Theocracy did concentration camps for Jews and other religious dissidents *too.* So Erik's life history has been very similar, minus superpowers.

Ah, thanks for that explanation! It really hurt my head trying to come up with something that made sense other than AU.

I picked Magneto, but if Dr Santoro is turning up in original fic, count me as a vote for that.

You actually have access to read it. It's over at alara_works, and it's called "The Cold At The Heart of the Light." One chapter is posted so far, in two parts. That journal has you friended, so you should be able to read the locked original fic posts. You'll recognize the first scene, because I cannibalized it from Twin Poles.

I voted for Working In Groups, but I'd love to see this, too:

like the Picard/Q about Q using his powers in bed

:DDDD

Absolutely loving the Seventeen Things, btw.

I voted for "Judgment Day", but I also want to see more of "Prometheus in Chains" as well as the "Jane Kirk" series. And "Do It Again". Basically, anything you write will be welcome!

As I posted on ASC, I am so glad to see the "17 things" fic finally finishing! I'm very much enjoying re-reading the older segments and getting the newest ones on your journal at the same time.
