Disclaimer: MINE! ALL MINE!....uh, no. Not mine.
Feedback: Reviews and flames are welcome. (They make it look like I'm writing fast)
Notes: The latest Grey's Anatomy, and moving into summer housing with a rather strange roommate put me in a really weird mood, and I ended up writing a really weird and very dark ficlet.

House sighed, limping into the apartment, past darkened beige walls shadowy ceilings, slipping the key coerced from the super back into his pocket. Chase was there, sitting on the grey bed, her note clutched in his hands, her shirt laid out over his lap, her things spread around the bedroom and over the bed. House slowly limped to the bed, leaning down to shift a few books aside, so he could sit beside the younger doctor, “you find answers?”

“No.”

“You find peace?”

Chase looked at him, eyes red and puffy, hair clearly unwashed,“no.”

“Did you call her father?”

Chase looked down at the note, for a long while. Then leaned towards House, just a tiny bit. House lifted his arm, putting it around the younger doctor’s shoulders, “no.”

House tucked his chin just over Chase’s head, as the blond pressed himself close, “are you ready to come home?”

Chase nodded, into House’s shirt, and closed his eyes, “I think so.”

House nodded against the top of Chase’s head, “how much of this stuff do you want to take?”

Chase shook his head, and pulled the shirt off his lap, hugging it to himself, “just this.”

House nodded, again, “you ready to go?”

“Just... gimme another few minutes. Please? I know you came all the way out here to get me...”

“It’s okay.”

Chase closed his eyes, and turned his head so his face was hidden in House’s shirt. House sighed, and rubbed a hand up and down the younger doctor’s back.

It had been five years since Remy had disappeared, four and three quarters since Chase had left to find her, four since House had left to find Chase. Three since House had found him. Two since House had lost him. One since House had found him and promised never to lose him. One month since they had begun to find her. One week since she had died. One day since Chase had found her. One hour since House had found him.

Chase nodded, “okay. Let’s go home.”
