So apparently I don't update livejournal. That's not surprising. I've never been one for writing down history, as my memory is decent and I don't particularly need a nudge as a reminder. Tuesday evening Bekah and I made the decision to evacuate. We'd managed to miss all mention of rita before then, but we looked her up. She was an ugly storm, and the model runs that the public never sees, had her making landfall about half the time in the houston area or just north, and about half the time just below the houston area. My condolences to the people of New Orleans
I'm sitting here watching the news, and listening as the race's sacrificial genomes stand and talk about their imminent destruction in the path of katrina. I miss little tommy brokaw in the boat, but mostly I think that he set that standard as a way of guaranteeing minimal competition from future broadcasters. Jan-tung rests at the top of the Eyl falls, two thousand feet above Treyin-Ra, the sea. The wizards, hereditary rulers of the old city, claim that this place has existed since before the rains began, before the sea of Treyin-Ra was formed. Moved!
So I'm typing this from the new apartment. I love the world right now. I have less than a third of the stuff I had at the old space, and 5/6ths of the space. Equally important, more of the space is usable. (Call it 95% usable here, to say 85% there) Bekah's asleep on the futon, and the cats on her hip, they snore in unison. Today was not a ( Read more... )
