Of the ones I've played, A link to the past is my all-time favorite, tho the two nes titles are classics and I've enjoyed both (till mom opened up II and took the battery for her NES game, lol)

'Ocarina of Time' IS the most popular Zelda game ever made, but I hold that it pales in comparison to 'A Link to the Past' for all of these reasons:
1. 'Ocarina of Time' is a shorter game with less dungeons.
2. It also has fewer, and less diverse special weapons.
3. And this is most important to me. 'Ocarina of Time' has a weaker story line than 'A Link to the Past.' I said there was 'no way' that Sheik was Zelda. 'They wouldn't do that,' I said, 'it's way too obvious.' Clearly, I gave them too much credit..
I mean no one playing 'A Link to the Past' for the first time expected to be drawn into the dark world, or to pay 100 rupies to enter a mandatory dungeon.
It was good times..
So, in short, I agree with you. 'A Link to the Past' is the best.
