These Trails I've Walked

When I was a kid, my family used to go on trips down to Jarrahdale and Serpentine Falls, about an hour and a half or so south of Perth. Mum loved the bush walks, the scenery, and the scent of the water as we approached the falls. Her favourite time of year to go was when the orchids were in bloom ( Read more... )

Very sad:(

I know what it is like to feel alienated from a brother. I do hope, in time, you can feel some sense of reconnection.

The trail with falls and orchids does sound lovely.

The interesting thing is I didn't even really notice it was happening until it was too late, I was too caught up in my own life.

It's not something I tend to dwell on because I held Mum in pretty high esteem even before she passed, and I'm more inclined to see what others might perceive as flaws as the right choices for her to make.

This happens to so many families. Yours is not alone. Each one left behind faces their grief differently--with remembrance, with regret, an some turn to God hoping to be nearer to their loved one just as you said, An excellent entry, well done. I hope your brother and father find peace.
