Fairy Tales on TV

I don't watch a lot of TV. We don't actually have television service, and I watch my current TV shows from my computer screen. We do have a Roku for our Netflix service and find it incredibly useful, and we've rented movies from Amazon that way as well. Thanks for the candid reviews! Honestly, I'd normally be willing to try these series, but with doing Namesake, I've been a bit hesitant, especially with Once Upon a Time. At first hearing fairy tale with a lead named Emma made me go, "Wait ... what?" But, I think I'll be giving both of these a try eventually myself.

I do the avoiding-similar-work thing, too! They're both so different from Namesake that I don't think you'll find yourself either inspired or discouraged.

Of course, I tend to think of you guys as smart and literary -- and I don't think either of these shows is going for that niche. :) (Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised!)

Thanks! We really do try! I have a folder on my Kindle that just says Namesake that has all the reference books, original source material, etc. for the story. I'd loved to be surprised as well, but I have a feeling we'd need J. Michael Stracynski to do a fairy tale series or something like that before that happens.
