So, here it is, the start of a new year. We have 3 of my 4 kids home for the holidays, and R will hopefully be home on leave this summer. All things considered, our family has been quite blessed. We're all working and L's been working hard on getting our bills paid off ( Read more... )

Congratulations on losing weight. I love that you have a video game sort-of-resolution.

A cruise is a really nice thing to do. If you haven't been on one before, here is my suggestion based on the one cruise that I went on. Get one on one of the largest boats you can, even if neither of you has ever had any motion sickness before. P and I went on one and although I never had motion sickness before and I'm not sure that you could say that I had it on our trip, I felt dizzy the whole trip and never really got used to it. I still enjoyed it but I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had been slightly steadier as I'm told a larger ship would have been. Also, don't go off eating well while on the boat. I gained a lot of weight in the week we were on the boat because food is available around the clock.

Thanks! My clothes are fitting better. Well, my 3x shirts are getting baggy and I'm fitting into my old 2x shirts. I can wear some of the shirts my wife made me, too. WOOT!

Guitar Hero is my favorite video game. We've got a few others for our Wii, but GH is my favorite. I just wish they would put out GH I & II for the Wii. Our son J gave my wife DDR for Christmas, so we've been playing that a lot lately. That'll help with losing weight, I'm sure.

One of my friends from work says you can expect to gain a couple pounds on a cruise because there's so much food available. I guess it's a good thing there's a gym on board, huh? We were looking at Royal Caribbean cruises, so I need to check the schedule and get it worked out. Since my company is shut down between Christmas and New Years, I'm thinking about doing it then. I hope they have something scheduled for then.

Thanks for your comments!

Well, we've done a little more talking about the vacation and it looks like we're going to do a cruise to Alaska. That's cool. I originally wanted to do a Caribbean cruise, but neither of us has been to Alaska, so it's a good place to start. The countryside is beautiful and it'll be nice to check out the glaciers and watch the whales. Now to get passports and everything else in order. WOOT!
