~Chapter 27~

Kira: Are you setting me up for another tentacle monster attack? *looks nervous*

Akuni: That would be telling.

Ishida: I didn’t think we’d be back in the story again, not with those two shinigami attention hogs having all this drama and angst all over the place.

Orihime: Oh, Ishida-kun, that’s not nice!

Chad: Yeah.

Akuni: But it’ ( Read more... )

EEEE!

Nice to see Ichigo again, and nice to see Hichigo cooperating! (or is he faking it?) And Ichigo's Division offering to help, that was sweet. So full of love.

Heh, if they're going to 12th and R&D, I wonder if we'll see Rin!

Ichigo is back! :) His people are so loyal - he's given them his best, now they're doing the same.

Oh my goodness. I think this chapter has my favourite omake ever. You win so hard.

This will be an awesome weekend because now I know that Ichigo is alive and the Hollow is fixed and things will be okay. *nods firmly* Everything will be happy this weekend.

Also, I will NOT think about a Renji gigai anywhere I am eating. There's something decidedly wrong about that. For serious. *shudders*

And just the mention of the 12th makes me think of Capt. Freakshow, aka Kurotsuchi Mayuri. *shudders* SO CREEPY. Even with the manga. *shudders again*

And hooray for the 3rd! They are sweet and awesome and teamworky! I want to snuggle them all and give them candy. So awesome.

Haha, why is this omake so special?

Ichigo is alive, yay! With some wonderful people backing him. :)

I don't like Mayuri much, but I have been reluctantly cheering for him in the current manga arc.

I've got to say that Mayuri's fight really makes me re-examine what it means to be a shinigami versus being a hollow. I think KT is demonstrating that the line between good and evil is far more blurry than it appears at the beginning of the show. I mean, that definitely played a role in the SS arc, but it seems even more dramatic now - now that we've seen hollow who seem to cheer on our heroes after losing fights and seeing Nel in her true form and juxtaposing that against the maliciousness of Mayuri. Please don't get me wrong - I despise (in the good way) Syazel (sp?), but I'm not sure I really want either of them on "my side."

Wow - that was a long post about a quick comment...

Haha, cause Ichigo totally put his foot in it. TWICE. It's nice to see him happy when it's been so long without him. Although maybe happy isn't quite the right word... ;D

And yeah, even though I was kind of cheering for him too Mayuri was still hella creepy. I feel bad for Ishida. *shudders*

Storytime! Yay! Good stuff. Nice to see some old familiar faces we haven't seen in awhile, even if it wasn't more than a brief cameo. Good chapter. Glad to see that we're getting back into Ichigo's mind as well - always a fun trip to bizarro world. You've got a nice rhythm going on here. Reading this made me think about watching the season premiere of Lost, and how as much as I enjoy that show, something tells me your story has, oh, just a wee bit more focus and direction. :)

Poor Kira. I hope he avoids more tentacle monsters.

Ichigo's back, hurray! It was a long stretch, but he was busy being unconscious for a while and Renji was busy being put through the wringer. ;)

Thank you. *^_^* Focus and direction I do indeed have. I can't write without it, I just flounder and flail.

Kira has had bad luck with tentacle monsters. *shakes head sadly*

Let's attack HM with Orihime robots..yeah that's it!
No matter who writes him, I really like Shirosaki. He's my snarky king. And no matter how "bad" he is, he's got all the common sense that Ichigo sometimes lacks.
Oh the faith people have in Ichigo to still be alive. Kira is right to be concerned but I don't think Byakuya is going to tell.
The omake is made of win. It's just a funny twist of the words...you're so good at that. **hands Ichigo a paddle**

The idea of the robots amuses me, and of course I was inspired by Orihime's drawing of her future self, in the early series. :)

Ichigo's Hollow is a very rich character, if you just read between the lines a little. On top of the obvious, I think he's also got motivations that no one knows.

Ichigo seems to inspire loyalty in people. I think it's because he's so loyal and dependable himself. He gives everything he has and more when people need him, and some people just can't forget that.

Glad the omake seems to be so enjoyable, hehehe! Poor Ichigo... so abused. :P

Yeah, Ichigo's back and the whole team is pulling together! Everyone's working on a way to save Ichigo. His division, his family, Chad, Orihime, Ishida, Zangetsu, Shirosaki, Urahara.... the whole gang is here. I love it when the team comes together.

It's great how you managed to pull together all these different groups in once chapter, kept everyone in character, and didn't make it seem like just a parade of names walking through. With this one chapter you changed the feel from anxious desperation to heightened anticipation and hope. This may be one of my favorite chapters so far. :)

And the Omake: I nearly died laughing.

Akuni: ..."You’re still up the creek."
Ichigo: "…shit."
Akuni: "Yep, that’s the one."

The whole gang is pulling together, yay! Whether they're covering Renji's tracks or just giving him a much-needed pat on the back to let him know they're on his side, they're doing what they can without getting in his way.

It was a bit tricky, but I'm pleased with how this chapter turned out, and I'm glad you think it worked. It was definitely a pivotal chapter, with so much happening - and yes, you're bang on about the changing tone of the story.

The omake is more amusing than I expected. :) This one was really off-the-cuff, but maybe that's why it is so funny.
