Bleach fanart
I didn't draw this. I can't draw at all, I'm utterly hopeless. But that's ok, because I have a friend who is good at drawing, who draws fanart for me to gush over.
If you follow my fics and your spidey sense is tingling, you're right on the money. 'The artist' from my story 'Muse' is this same friend who draws all the gorgeous Bleach guys for me. I wrote that story for both of us, because we get fangirly thrills out of the RenjixIchigo crack pairing and there just aren't enough good fics out there. The idea of characters posing or performing for fanworks has so much potential for absurd fun that I couldn't resist - and it just seemed right to give my friend 'the artist' a role.
What's that got to do with fanart? Everything! 'The artist' decided to draw a special piece of fanart for me, in appreciation of her story. :) There were hints that I would "really like this one", and eventually I put a few clues together and decided she was drawing Renji tailored to my tastes. Which is exactly what she did... with a twist.
Imagine my shock when I read the filename in the download window that popped up on my screen... I was blushing like fire as I leaped out of my chair, saying over and over, "Oh no, she didn't... did she? Would she? Oh my god!" It took a couple minutes to download (yey for large scans!), and my husband thought I'd lost my mind utterly as I bounced around the living room. When I opened it... *squeee!!!*

She was so tickled when she read the story that she decided to turn the tables, and put me in her fanart. I must say, she was very stealthy about it, too... blending questions like "How do you prefer these characters' hair/clothes/smile/eyes?" into our conversations. It made sense, at the time, since we were digging for desktop wallpapers for our shiny new laptops.
Ok ok enough dribbling... here's the art (haven't cleaned it or anything, right off the sketchbook):
I'm putting this up on the walls of my cube at work, right next to the terrific fanart her kids have sent me. I'll have to post a picture of the whole thing once I get it all set up next week. :)
Longest... entry... ever... sheesh! I'm still not a diarist, but I really wanted to share this amazingly touching piece of art. I will cherish this forever, and when I look at it I will always giggle, remembering that she said, "It was just supposed to be a 'hanging out together' type of picture, but you two just wouldn't behave!" ^_^
Yep, she nailed it - I know I definitely would not behave! *grin*
