YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!! Just when I thought I couldn't take any more, Bleach pulls it out of the fire and back into the awesome. Big spoilers below the cut.
I sort of fell out of Bleach and then picked it back up again after the time skip. So it's nice to actually feel like I'm reading Bleach now instead of, you know, a spin-off where Ichigo is still the main character.
Exactly! I really can't get into the wider cast of characters that show up now and then. There's just too many of them, so they don't get enough time to show more personality than a limited caricature, which isn't terribly interesting to me.
To be honest, though, I really do have a soft spot for all our shinigami friends, and am so glad to see some of them back. :)
Yes! :D Urahara and Isshin made an appearance a few chapters ago, and now they and Rukia have shown up again this week. \o/
Hi hi!! :D I feel like I've missed myself, too! *laugh* I've been so very busy, you wouldn't believe. I thought things would go back to normal after my job ended, but there's been no chance of that so far. We've had a lot of company, and then a family emergency that took us across the country for three weeks, and... just too much going on to stop and catch a breath.
I really do intend to catch up with everything, it's just finding the time and brainpower for it, you know?
Yes! It was a pretty good series overall. I feel like I'm always looking forward to more, each series seems to go by in a blink.
I tried posting and commenting a couple times recently, but the LJ downtime filled me with frustration and I gave up. I was so glad to see you had a visit with Rae, and I wanted to ask why the visit was so short - you had her there, why didn't you keep her? :D
I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but wouldn't that be terrific?! Even if not, I'm still desperate to know what else has been going on in SS all this time. *excited*
I was reading out of habit more than anything, but my reading was of the "two minute scan and meh" variety. Haven't watched an episode (or a film) since DB stopped fansubbing.
But this was a fantabulous chapter.
I'd cued ldybastet in last week that it was time to play catch-up, because I had every expectation that this was going to be the biggie (two week break and all), especially as some of the previous chapters' pacing felt so stretched out - like Kubo was aiming for this chapter, on this date, and had to add guff in order to get the pay-off.
I've been pretty unenthused about the direction Bleach has been taking (and don't even get me started on the Aizen thing), but I'm glad to say I'm back on board - at least for as long as things continue to improve and get interesting again. Crossing my fingers that we're back on track!
I have to catch up on the anime as well. The other day I was thinking I could maybe enjoy a good filler arc more than what the manga was offering. :o
They caught him and... dragged him away and locked him up, or something along those lines. *boggle* If I were in charge of SS security, I would've lopped off his head and put him through a blender. Something more permanent... ;p

But I liked Ginjou!

I haven't read Bleach since the time skip. It felt like some random manga that I didn't know. Maybe I should pick it back up!

Here's hoping it's full-steam ahead now!
