Chapter 1 Meeting You Once Again Chapter 2 Hurting without You Here Chapter 3 Spending Time with You ~Chapter 4 Wishing with You Again~
“Nee, Chihara-chan… why are you so gloomy in sudden?” Ha-chan asked seeing the sad expression on her friend’s face at the break.
“Them.” Chihara pointed something on her bento.
Ha-chan directed her vision to the thing Chihara pointed out then she burst out of laughter. “BBWWAHHHAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!”
Chihara simply pouted hearing her friend’s laughter. Meanwhile, the loud laughter Ha-chan made drew Nakajima’s and Yabu’s attention who was planting the Ayame flower. They then approached their students, checking them out.
“Ha-chan, what’s going on with you?” Nakajima lovingly asked the smaller girl than Chihara.
Ha-chan tried to stop laughing. “Ah… Naka-sen. Chihara-chan…” She puzzled her explanation while wiping her tears.
“Chihara-chan?” Yabu and Nakajima turned their gaze to the pouting girl beside Ha-chan.
“Chihara-chan’s so cute, Naka-sen! She’s so sad and almost cried when she found there’re tomatoes on her bento.” Ha-chan finished her answer without stopping her grin.
Nakajima simply smiled knowing the reason Ha-chan laughed so hard. He understood how cute Chihara could be when she saw tomatoes.
“What’s wrong with you and tomatoes, Chihara-chan?” Yabu asked, clearly clueless.
“She doesn’t like tomatoes, Yabu-sensei.” Ha-chan replied in Chihara’s place. “Ah… since you’re here, can you tell my best friend, they’re actually tasty and have many vitamins that good for our health?” Ha-chan looked at Yabu.
This time it was Nakajima’s turn to giggle, making his students looked at him in curiosity.
“Naka-sen, why are you giggling?” Ha-chan asked.
“Well… you choose a wrong person, Ha-chan.” He replied, grinning at Yabu.
“Eh?”
“This sensei also hates tomatoes.” Nakajima stated and Yabu blushed in embarrassment.
“EEEHHHH???” Chihara and Ha-chan shouted in unison.
Yabu blushed harder.
“Hontou, Yabu-sensei?” Chihara asked.
Yabu half-heartily nodded.
“It’s surprising, nee. They’re alike, nee, Naka-sen?” Ha-chan looked for an agreement.
“They?”
“Chihara-chan, her otou-san, and Yabu-sensei.” Ha-chan replied.
“Otou-san?” Yabu frowned.
“Okaa-san said otou-san also hates tomatoes. So, I probably inherited it from him.” Chihara told about her father to Yabu, making the young sensei startled. Yabu felt his heart quivered heard the similarity between him and Chihara’s father.
“Ah… okaa-san… why should you put them into my bento?” Chihara whined.
“She’s care about your nutrient, Chihara-chan.” Ha-chan replied as if she was Chihara’s mother as well as a doctor.
“But… there’re still another fruit or vegetables.” Chihara argued.
“Just eat them a little. Your mother has made it for you.” Nakajima persuaded.
“But…”
“You love your okaa-san, don’t you, Chihara-chan?” Nakajima continued.
Chihara replied in a blink of eye. “Of course.”
“Ja, eat them like what Naka-sen said. You can make your okaa-san sad if she knew you dislike her handmade bento.” Ha-chan helped Nakajima persuading Chihara. “If you still can’t eat all of them… I’ll eat the rest....” She yielded.
“EHHH??? You want to eat them for me???” Chihara widened her eyes and Ha-chan nodded.
“Thank you… Ha-chan!!!” She exclaimed then hugged Ha-chan.
“Ah… let me go… it’s annoying… Chihara-chan!” Ha-chan tried to free herself.
Yabu and Nakajima just smiled looking at the friendship on their students. They reminded them to their childhood. Yabu also almost cried when his mother put tomatoes into his bento and Nakajima helped him eating them for Yabu so his mother did not get mad at him.
“Hey… I just found out another similar thing between Chihara and Yabu-sensei!” Ha-chan out of sudden shouted, making Yabu and Nakajima frowned.
“What’s that?” Nakajima asked.
“Their eyes are alike.” Ha-chan pointed out.
“EH??” Nakajima then darted his eyes to Chihara, examining her eyes and turned to Yabu, doing the same thing. “You’re right, Ha-chan. They’re similar.” Nakajima agreed.
Yabu and Chihara then stared at each other, wanting to know whether Nakajima and Ha-chan was right or not. Yabu gasped after looking deeply Chihara’s eyes. They were true after all. Chihara’s eyes and his were indeed looked alike.

“What do you want to discuss, Yuuto?” Yabu asked as he sat down.
“It’s about you and Chihara.” Nakajima replied in serious tone.
“Maa… you don’t have to be so serious like that… Yuuto.”
“I have to, Kouta. Because you can hurt her.” Nakajima said. “What’s your real feeling towards her?”
“Hey… I’ve said I don’t fall in love with her. I consider her as my daughter.” Yabu reminded.
“Just that? Really?” Nakajima sounded to doubt him.
“Oh… c’mon Yuuto… you know me better than this.” Yabu rolled his eyes.
“Ja… I think I’m not allowed to tell you this… but I don’t have any choice.” Nakajima stared Yabu with serious eyes.
“What are you talking about?” Yabu suddenly became so interested.
“It’s about Chihara’s father…”

There was Ayame on the side-road Yabu passed by to his way home, thinking about what Nakajima told to him. He then saw Hikaru was walking alone a few meters ahead as well. He fastened his walks, smiling but not calling Hikaru. He wanted to surprise her.
“Hikaru-chan!” Yabu cheerfully spoke as he placed his hands on Hikaru’s shoulder, making his junior jumped.
“Yabu-kun!!!???” Hikaru shouted in surprise and madness. She gasped and stroked her chest where her heart laid beneath it. She was obvious that she did not know Yabu would greet her in such manner. Like he just an elementary school student who greeted his best friend. “What’s going on with you? You want me to get a heart-attack???” Hikaru complained and glared at Yabu.
Yabu swiftly shook his head side to side. He, of course, did not want Hikaru got a heart-attack in the first place. He only wanted to greet her and prevent her from running away when he only called her from far. He knew Hikaru very well. He was sure she still felt awkward because of the kiss two prior days. They were not in a relationship any longer. She probably would run when they met again and Yabu did not want it.
“Of course not, Hikaru. You just take it too seriously.” Yabu answered and Hikaru only rolled her eyes. “Seeing your reaction, were you daydreaming just now?” He asked in concern tone. “You have problem?”
Hikaru stared into Yabu’s eyes before replying. “Nope.” She lied. She was thinking about Yabu when he surprised her. What she could think was only about Yabu, Yabu, Yabu and Yabu since the new sensei kissed her. And she did not want to let Yabu know about that. About she could not forget his kiss for two days already. Hence, what she should do right now was acted naturally as if nothing happened. As if his kiss was nothing for her. As if his kiss did no effect on her.
Yabu let out a sigh in relief. “Yokatta! I’m worried you’re having a problem.”
Hikaru simply flashed a small smile. There was something warm she felt as she saw the look upon his face, a concern one.
“Sa, from work?” Yabu asked, trying to find a topic. He wanted to have a small and light talk with her. It was the way to get closer to her again after long time apart. He tried not to talk about the things that night as he knew it could ruin their time.
Hikaru nodded. “Many customers came today, making me feel so tired now.” She softly replied as tilting her head side to side, stretching.
Yabu gave a faint smile to her and without his command, his hand tenderly tapping Hikaru’s back. They stared at each other awkwardly and Hikaru gently dropped Yabu’s hand away.
“I-I’m sorry.” Yabu abruptly held his own hand and Hikaru simply smiled.
“How about you?” Hikaru casually asked. She had to naturally behave in front of him.
“Just had small talk with Yuuto then go home before going work to the hospital.” Yabu replied.
“EH??? You work on hospital too?” Hikaru was taken aback and somehow they started talking lightly.
Yabu shrugged his shoulders. “Just giving a little help four to five times a week since a week ago.” He excitedly replied.
“Masaka… you’re the new handsome doctor the ladies making fuss about.” Hikaru wondered.
“Huh???” Yabu asked, dumfounded.
“Well… I heard the ladies in this town who are married or single chattered about their admiration to the new doctor. They looked so amazed when they talked about it.” Hikaru dryly explained. “The girls seem want to know you better.” She dryly added as the image of how excited and happy the girls when they made a bet who would be the first one to know Yabu better.
Yabu grinned. “Hontou?”
“Yeah…” Hikaru replied tersely but somehow Yabu could detect a jealousy over her voice and face. “I think you’ll get a girlfriend soon.”
“Sou da yo ne…” Yabu took a breath. He was not sure whether he should be happy or not for being idolized and popular in a short time. However, Hikaru’s statement encouraged his curiosity about her feelings. “How do you think about me now, Hikaru?” He dared to ask.
“Huh?”
“They said I’m handsome, and I want to know, how do you look at me now?” Yabu cleared his question.
“What’s this?”
“Just my curiosity. You used to say that thing too back then. How about now? Am I still handsome?” He wanted to know whether Hikaru still looked at him as the way before.
Hikaru flushed then looked away, staring at the Ayame and wondering why Yabu delivered such question. She bewildered whether should say the truth or not. Her head commanded her to reply ‘NO’ but her heart told her to say ‘YES’ because he actually was.
“Hi-ka-ru!” Yabu playfully called as he took a hold on Hikaru’s wrist, turning her. He chuckled seeing the flushed Hikaru, meanwhile, she looked away, avoiding to face him. “Ja… I’m still handsome, nee?” Yabu playfully teased. He was clearly so happy with his own conclusion.
Hikaru yanked her hand which was held by Yabu, freeing it and rolled her eyes. “You’re still so narcissus.”
“People make me like that.” He defended himself. “I never expose or say it at the first place.”
“Yeah… yeah… yeah…” Hikaru hummed. “May you get your girlfriend soon, Mr. Handsome, and then she could proudly take you around and being the centre of attention. You like being it.” She scoffed off.
Yabu smiled. He was sure Hikaru still had a tiny love for him. It was still remain in her heart. And what he should do was only kept the tiny seed and took care of it so carefully until it grew bigger and bigger. Until she could accept him again, neither as her senpai nor her friend but as a gentleman who would always stay by her side. As her husband, to be precisely.
“Ja ne, Yabu-kun.” Hikaru bid him good bye as they should walk to different pathway.
“I’m happy to see you again, Hikaru.” Yabu spoke so directly and honestly. He had not said it yet to her as they only met two times. And on Yabu’s mind they were short, mainly for the first one.
“Yeah… me too. Besides, Hara-chan seems happy since you came here.” Hikaru responded without her command. She was not supposed to be so honest like that in front of him but somehow Yabu’s aura overwhelming her.
Hearing that, Yabu leaned forward and trapped Hikaru in his arms, making Hikaru was so speechless. His deep and intent stare made Hikaru’s heart stopped a minute. “Why do you not be my girl, Hikaru?” He softly yet firmly uttered.
Hikaru pulled away, staring confusedly at Yabu. “What?”
“Yeah… you become my girlfriend like the way we’re before. You also said I’ll get a girlfriend soon.” Yabu calmly stated as he held Hikaru at arms’ length. “And I want it’s you.” He could not take any other a minute not to say he wanted her. He needed her by his side like six years ago. He stared at Hikaru full of hope. A hope she just say ‘yes’ without thinking.
Hikaru needed less than two seconds to give her answer. “I think you’re getting out of your mind, Yabu-kun. I suggest you reconsider about it. I have a daughter now and I don’t want to make her sad if something unpleasant happen between us. She likes you, a lot.” Hikaru ran away, leaving Yabu alone. Her senpai really got her in confusion. She still could not trust him completely to be someone close to her and Chihara. She was still afraid because of their past. But if Chihara found out about Yabu’s feelings towards her, Chihara would happily ask her to take the offer. Hikaru knew although her daughter never clearly said she wanted a father, Hikaru was sure she really wanted one for her. Chihara needed a love from someone she could call otou-san every single day.
Yabu did not take any step to catch Hikaru. He just stared at her, giving her some times to register and deeply think about it. “Because I love both of you, I want to stay with you and protect you.” He promised to say it the time he met Hikaru again, when she was calm enough.

“Good evening, Kou-chan!”
Yabu looked up and widened his eyes seeing the woman who was standing in front of his house. He gasped, unbelieving to see her that soon.
“You seem not happy to see me, Kou-chan.” She spoke again, smirking.
“How can I be happy after what you had done to me?” Yabu sarcastically retorted.
“I did it because I love you, Kou-chan.”
“You don’t know anything about love!” Yabu shouted.
“Saa… you think you and her know about it?” She angrily asked.
“Her?” Yabu puzzled. Fear crept on his heart.
The woman threw some pictures to Yabu. Yabu looked down at the scattered pictures and he recognized them as himself and Hikaru. He picked one which portrayed him kissed her that night.
“Yaotome Hikaru.” The woman said. “She’s pretty, but not as beautiful as me, nee, Kou-chan? She doesn’t deserve to you.”
Yabu rolled his eyes, feeling unpleasant hearing the statement. He immediately glared at her full of hatred. “What are you planning to do with her?!!” Yabu asked in high voice, knowing how evil she could be when she found him got close to another woman.
“You sound so care, Kou…” She calmly retorted.
“Don’t you ever dare to touch her!”
“Is that a threat?” She asked. “Don’t worry… I won’t do anything to her.” She whispered in Yabu’s ears, smirking.
“If something happen to her, I won’t…”
“You won’t what, Kou?” She evilly smiled, sharply staring at him. “Like I said before… I won’t do anything to her…” She paused. “But truthfully, it’s depended on her.” She shortly added before entering into her car and dazed off.
Yabu could only stare at the leaving car then weakly sat down. He was so scared now. He never thought she could find him there that soon. And the worst he probably put Hikaru on danger because of his past. “Hika… please be safe.”
