It seems I was not quite cautious enough, lately. [The words are said with a small, rueful sigh - a haplessly amused sort of sound. A chess piece twirled in his fingers, he gives a small, sharp smile.] What an unsettling feeling! I suppose I might reiterate to our newcomers and residents alike that we must be ever mindful of the threat the fae's ( Read more... )

I'm doing quite well. I'll be helping out at the Inn from now on, and I'm even learning how to cook.

[ Even if does look like her new life is taking a toll on her, she sounds surprisingly content... and a little concerned when she says: ] Are you well, brother?

An industrious start, then? [A chuckle.] I'm unsurprised. I wonder if you'll share Lelouch's knack for it.

[He smiles reassuringly, given a nod.] I'm quite alright, Nunnally. Please, don't look worried!

[ He gets a briefly dubious look, but it passes quickly. Even if she is not entirely reassured, he would have many good reasons to not share much over these communicators. ]

Well, we can all hope that his talent was contagious, can't we? But for right now, I'm just going to be glad I haven't caught anything on fire yet.

[He notes the look, but says nothing. She's sharper than she's often given credit for - he knows that well.]

Well, that is reassuring, I admit. Perhaps I might see for myself, some time.

[Sebastian slightly bows at the screen. This person is a prince, after all. Or at least, pretends to be one.]

I have to agree with you, my Lord. Introducing a law system in Demeleier must be extremly well thought and prepared. Besides, it wouldn't be wise to take such important decisions when some of us are still under the shock of Sindragosa's arrival. [He's not part of that 'us' though.]

[And nor is Schneizel, but he nods.] A very prudent point, sir. In the wake of such events as that which we've recently experienced, we must be even more careful that we do not rush our decisions, or allow our outlooks to be clouded.

To tell the truth, I really wonder if it would be wise to change everything. I just arrived recently but it seems to me that this world was working nicely without any political or law system. I am afraid that designing 'leaders' could create tensions.

It was, for the most part, but there are more recent events to take into account than Sindragosa's arrival. With our numbers growing, too, having guidelines to work along may well help us in the future.

Understand that there's no perceived need for splitting power in such a way. I certainly have no intent or desire to do such a thing - as you've said, it would create tension, rifts, division... Exactly the hardships we must do our utmost to avoid. What we need is a collection of input, however.

Is it? [A laugh.] I suppose I might say the same. I see that you've been serenading the village again.

I am. There was no great harm done. [Harm enough, in his eyes, when he puts so much stock on being focused and careful.]

[There's a bit of a bow then. Can you tell that he's excited?]

I'm Earl Alois Trancy of Buckinghamshire, under the rule of Queen Victoria, Queen of Britain. [It's not Britannian, but it is Britannia, technically.] I've never met a prince before! You must be the Princess' brother, yes?

[It's only being in Demeleier and finding out a bit more about other worlds that has him realising precisely what the young Earl means. He smiles, however, and, hand over his heart, bows as much as a video feed allows.]

A pleasure to meet you, Earl Trancy. Though I believe we know very different Britannias.
