This morning, I went with my Mom downtown to look for my cosplay. Turn out, even if it is China Town, some people do close for Civic/Simcoe holiday. Some of the old stores which carried specialties also have closed down permanently due to too much cheap things nowaday. We came across 1 store which carried a different old style Ao Dai. Cosplay is costume roleplay. People dress up in clothing of characters they like from anime, manga, comic, movies, etc. A lot of people cosplay when they go to convention like this one. Vietnam is a character in the manga Hetalia. Fans guess that she wears Ao Dai. This fan is wearing a version of Ao Dai.

This will be my first time trying to cosplay any character.

I thought I already replied to your last post. I think I was so sleepy I forgot to post my reply. The crying goat is creepy.

If you ever want to try reading Hetalia, here are two sites, one & two which archive the author's comic works. Hetalia starts off as an online gag comic strip created by Himaruya. The comic focuses on the interaction between countries, and it also makes fun of the stereotypes surround different countries. Later a publisher gathers some of his strip and publish into manga volumes. Don't put too much faith into the historical information.

Ahhh. How adorable it is for your mother to be supportive of you cosplaying! My aunt once came with me when I bought my first (and only, mind you) cosplay "attire" from a thrift store. Witch Hunter Robin - I have a feeling I told you about this before. Hahaha.

She thinks cosplaying Vietnam mean you just dress up in any Vietnamese clothing land carries whatever things link to Vietnam the most. I have to keep telling her that I have to try to follow the characters' sketches as close as I can. It's hard to follow 2 Black & White rough sketches.

No I don't think you ever told me about Witch Hunter Robin. About the pictures, I keep forgetting to borrow my friend's digital camera so I never fulfill any picture promises. My Mom's fiance did take a couple of pictures of me before shortly after I had my hair dyed, and copied them to a USB stick for me. I currently don't know where the stick is >__<
