Instead of spending time writing my lab report (oh, wait, I don't have my lab manual with me, just realized that when writing this, god how slow am I), I spent a fair bit of time writing my first Philosophy post. If Bacon was Protestant, the true religion thing could work, because it means he disagrees with the Catholic church (quite possibly because of its history of preventing scientific knowledge), but is still religious, and therefore would consider religion to be an important part of science.

Ah! That is such a good point! I looked it up on wiki and the closest thing it said was that Bacon was sympathetic to Puritans. I guess that could count? Thanks for the help!
