Whenever I see something authored by you on my dash I do a mental *yes, rub hands together while grinning in a devious way*. I'm surprised the bar dude even had the balls to approach her given that Kakuzu came in with her. But it was nice to see him in all his wrecked, vicious greed. That level of control must be stifling after a while, like you can't even breathe too loudly without those odd eyes keeping track of you; but I guess for Yugito it is just trading one cage for another (albeit much smaller, and not quite so brutal) cage.
I realize this is totally inappropriate, but for whatever random reason... on Friday, there was a parody of the Justin Beiber song 'Boyfriend' replacing key lyrics to tell how if you meet his bodyguard he'll beat your @ss. Now I have this mental picture of Kakuzu standing there looking intimidating, getting ready to lay some smackdown on whoever even looks at something that belongs to him.
Well, the bar dude probably really is not the smartest character I ever made up :) (good that he gets beaten up for it ). Being Yugito certainly is not easy. I have not decided yet if Kakuzu is always that possessive (even though it kind of makes sense) or if he simply behaves that way because he has had a bad day with something obviously not having gone as planned in that battle earlier. Kakuzu as a bodyguard or a bouncer would be awesome by the way. I can totally see him intimidate people all the time with his big bad monster-like self.
Bardude was much like 'fodder nin': an accessory to embellish the main character action probably just a little inebriated and absolutely in the wrong place at the wrong time. I did get the impression from the flow, especially how quickly Yugito acted to attempt to diffuse the situation, that tempers may have been running high (along with the temperature!) and Kakuzu may have been looking for a convenient outlet to take out his frustration on.
I don't think ninja life in general is very conducive to the 'good life', but the jinchuuriki seem to especially have a bad lot. It must be a bitter loss for Yugito too, since it seemed (at least from the proffered backstory) that she was just under the upper hand -finally gaining some respect, maybe not acceptance or tolerance but perhaps a lowering of prejudice to a more 'neutral' standing rather than being seen as only the beast inside her village.
Bodyguard/bouncer Kakuzu....shudder. HIs 'come at me bro' battle face must be like something out of a devil's nightmare.
The thing with tempers having run high is definitely true. Kakuzu is looking for an outlet and Yugito is probably too, so she kind of oversteps her boundaries with him and it gets thrown right in her face. I always imagined her to be kind of sandwiched between the demon and Kakuzu. Both exercise power over her, thus making her in some ways ruled both from the in- and outside. So her life is certainly kind of hard in that way. Then again maybe Kakuzu and Hidan don't see her that much as just a jinchuuriki, because she doesn't pose as much a threat to them as she would to others, because they would be able to overthrow her even if the cat went on a rampage. (And compared to them she is probably quite "normal" anyways.)
Yugito trying to lure the bar guy away so quickly is one of the weaknesses of the fic. I most likely should have elaborated that more, but whatever...
Apropos bouncer or bodyguard Kakuzu: I think I'm going to write something about that one day, because how could I resist writing about Kakuzu bullying some people?
