Assuming that I'm up to it, next weekend's dinner will be a pan-seared sirloin marinated in bourbon and cinnamon (and other things). I'm not sure what vegetable I'll want with that: maybe good ol' roasted asparagus?

Bourbon and cinnamon? That sounds interesting. Asparagus does sound like it would be a good accompaniment. Now you've made me hungry for steak.

To be precise: equal parts bourbon and shoyu (soy sauce brewed with wheat as well as soybeans), flavored with brown sugar, garlic, and cinnamon. I use a fair amount of cinnamon in marinades: the heat and slight sweetness contrast well, I think, with salt and sour...and I like cinnamon :-)
