I have 2 stories nominated in the same category at the Dramione's right now. Unless one or both are voted out during preliminary votings (if there ARE any preliminary votings) I will eventually have to choose one.

Hee, I voted for the "ToYK" because I like fluff. Fluff is good. Master had no fluff, therefore I did not vote for it. ;)

I can do that. Although these two fics are very, VERY different and hard to compare. (and here I'm asking you to XD)

I have to say, I'm also surprised that Taste of Your Kiss is leading, 4 to 1. To be honest, while I like the story (you wrote it, so I'm going to like it because you are just that good), I don't think ToYK has a fraction of the power that Master has. And I constantly rec You Change My Mind because of the kick-in-the-gut ending. Silencio and Bracelet are already iconic in the fandom, so they are definitely getting the love they deserve. I'm just surprised that 1) people prefer ToYK by such a very large margin, and 2) YCMM wasn't nominated for anything, because it is an absolute, albeit devastating, gem.

Of course, I don't participate in awards to begin with, for a whole lot of reasons I won't belabor here, so perhaps my perspective is skewed.

Sillyfic isn't as powerful, it's true. But I think that the whole feelgood genre has its own following. Everyone (well, almost everyone) likes to read a nice, light fic every once in a while :) Personally, I hate too much angst just as much as I hate too much fluff.

The poll hasn't been up long, so we'll see where it ends :) I know Maz abstained from voting because he actually didn't read Master. It's the only fic of mine he didn't read and it's because of the raping.

I was a bit surprised that Master and sillyfic were nominated for anything and I was surprised that Silencio wasn't. But I don't mind, Silencio already had its time to shine =)

Silencio is a freakin' work of art. The fact that it was not nominated (and the fact that no one immediately seconded the nomination for Gravidy's The Beggar Thief) is a prime example of one reason (I actually have several) why I find awards problematic. I truly appreciate the hard work of those who run the awards. I do feel honored by the nominations I've received. I do feel that a lot of the awards are very richly deserved. But...Sigh. Let's just say I have issues and leave it at that. I really don't want to offend anyone, or make anyone feel defensive about awards. My decision about non-participation in awards was made long before I found HP fandom.

Don't worry about getting around to reading my fics. They aren't even finished, yet. They'll be there when you have time to get around to them. For the record, Tender Vengeance seems to be my most popular fic (it was nominated for Best Smut) while my personal favorite of all my HP fics is Persistence of Desire (which got no nominations

Well, I agree that there are some things that make the award system problematic (e.g. the fact that it's not truly representative of everyone who reads fan fiction), but I think floo and her mods are doing a marvellous job in trying to make it as fair as possible.

As for what gets noms, well, someone has to just do it. If they don't, it's because it didn't occur to them to do so ;) Or maybe they think it's disqualified from every category due to its last win. Either way... I respect your wishes, of course =)

I do hope I'll find the time soon. Maybe this summer :D I feel like I haven't tried to get to know YOU as an author and I feel bad about that.

And yes, if the angst is over the top I just get annoyed. You nailed that 100% It needs to be well-founded and well-managed. I do hope to achieve that whenever I write angst =)

Okay, I just looked back and RIGHT NOW they're even.

Maybe the master fans (I truly believe they're in a larger number, because I tend to talk about master more often) are still peeking out.

I polled for Master! Honestly, there was no question about it. I think the general power and tone of that fic is the domain of the authorship that I have always associated with when it comes to your writing. I am not sure how definite your style is (because I believe more awesomeness from you is coming. Got your totem ready and all ;p) but I definitely think that you're in your element with Master.

Of course, everyone likes some fluff and smut and all those lemony bits once in a while! I just think Master is worlds better... Actually, if I didn't know better, I wouldn't have known the same person wrote those two fics!

Well, personally I think that both Master and sillyfic are out of my normal sphere. Feelgood fluff and ugly rape are two things that I don't really usually do.

But I get what you mean. I mean, there's more of Master than sillyfic in e.g. Silencio and YCMM.

And I know they're REALLY different. I love doing different things ;)
