R.I.P. Burger

Those of you who know me and some of you that don't, know that I have two cats. Modem and Burger.

Now I have one cat: Modem.

Because today, Burger was killed.

By a car, one would assume. And she wasn't a pretty sight. I only hope that the force that would pop an eye out of its socket was enough to kill her instantaneously. I was told she seemed

The worst part - if there is a worst part, I don't even know - is that she was right outside the gate to our backyard. And there are speed bumps out there and a T-crossing within a handful of metres, so they shouldn't have been able to hit her with that kind of force. The driver had to be some kind of neglectful, speeding idiot and I would LOVE to get my hands on them.

Oh, honey! I'm sorry for your loss. I'm not much of a pet person but I do understand your feelings.

I've had pets all my life, but due to the generally neglectful nature of my dad, never for anywhere near so long before. I can't imagine not having pets at all. Then who would cuddle me when I'm sick/watching TV/sleeping/trying to eat?

It's been so long since I've lost a pet, though. And generally they just... disappeared. Never had to go look at their bodies before. :(

I hope Modem dies of old age and nothing else.
