OM NOM NOM indeed.

Re. sleeping together. Yeah, they are COMMUNIST nisser*. See they also eat from the same bowl, and look at all the red they wear! But then Denmark is also socialist, which we all know = COMMUNISME!
... I don't think they get paid for their work either.

*there really is no translating nisser, not its NOT an elf, even if they are associated with santa (in modern times at least). Heres some edumication for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tomte

I just read that article. It's very inaccurate. We do have a Santa Claus (in Denmark called julemanden) D: He just can't be everywhere, so, of course, there's also nisser!

ok, right, it's not really all that accurate.

But it's the only thing I got save writting something myself.

I JUST NOTICED THAT TAG!!! There is no rule 34 in that post, until now that you tagged it as such, and I suddenly ...well yeah, enforced it! That Gemyse sure does have a low cut dress. ;)

I REMEMBER THAT NOW!!

It's been many years since I watched Nissebanden. Do you know what julekalender will be on this year?

I have NO clue about either channel! I saw a tv ad yesterday for the cardboard calender and while it did have some clips from the tv calender, there wasn't a single word about what it was actually about. Something with nisser helping, but uh, aren't they all?

Are these Julnisser?

Now you have done it! I haven't had a decent Milchreis in forever. English rice pudding just doesn't cut it.

*swoons* Milchreis. With Almonds. And cinnamon sugar.

And it's still four weeks until I go to Berlin!!

Julenisser, yeah :) They are Nissebanden (the nisse gang but... not in a BAD way). They work for Santa, sort of. During the year. He only comes out that once, after all, and someone has to see to his affairs in the meantime. :)

There's no almonds in this, but it DOES have cinnamon sugar on it. :D What we do for Christmas is we make risengrød, like this, made from rice and milk, and then cool it, put in whipped cream and chopped almonds, making "ris à la mande", which is served for dessert cold with hot cherry sauce :D AND there's usually ONE whole almond in there and the one to find it gets a prize. <3

Holy run-on, batman!

Edit to fix at least one confusing sentence

ha! i had that for breakfast today. among other breakfasty things.

my boyfriend/fellowParent stubbornly calls it julgröt which i feel is somewhat demeaning since surely it is possible to have it all year...

Yeah, we don't have it often but I know that we've had it both in the spring and the fall this year. Sure, it's traditionally something you have for Christmas, but that doesn't make it inedible the rest of the year. :)

I can't help but get in a chrismas mood whenever I get it though. And I feel it's "wrong" to get it during the summer.
Just like tunasalat is "wrong" to get in the winter.

Yes dammit, food is season-coded.
