Yeah, the second they were like WHO IS MISSY I was like AH SHE IS THE HETERONORMATIZED MASTER and was I right or was I right? Make-out seshhh! So between the massive No Homo of it and the fact that the actress is overdoing the vixen thing but seems shallow otherwise, I'm not thrilled.

I think Moffat was definitely trying to make us think she was Romana for a second there right before the reveal. Right after she killed someone in cold blood. So in that sense it's kind of a relief. Well played, I must admit. But I think it'd have been much cooler if she was the Rani. Yeah, I know, a lot of viewers don't even know who that is, but The Promised Land being some kind of grand experiment of the Rani would've been awesome. In fact, bringing back both her and Romana (thus having a villainess and a heroine) would've been another way of balancing the Too Many Dicks thing

And yes, heteronormatized! I expect a lot wink wink, nudge nudge shenanigans next week (and series). There's also the fact that we're now going to see yet another woman whose universe revolves around the Doctor.

Meanwhile, I do have some headcanon on Time Lords/Ladies and gender identity that I'm thinking of posting. Trust me, my issue has nothing to do with the idea of genderqueer Gallifreyans. It's just that ''Missy'' is (probably) nothing of the sort.
