Not exactly true on the CGI front. anonymous January 12 2006, 08:26:48 UTC
Actually, my feelings on CGI are thus:

I think that the use of CGI is fantastic, and has come a long way since the old spaceships with visible bits of string. The problems that we are seeing now is that the processing power of the computers running the CGI is quicker than the processing power of our brains.

The result that you get from this is that on a frame-by-frame basis, the effects look wonderful, very realistic, and obviously there is a lot of hard work that has been put into it.

However...

Movie projection uses about 25 frames per second. Thus, when the CGI is changing so rapidly, the brain can't keep up and much of it becomes a blur.

Jurassic Park had the right speed of motion. Kong was a bit too quick for my liking.

Just my thoughts...

Surprise? akasha353 January 18 2006, 00:26:00 UTC
What a romantic idea! How amazing your sweetie must be. Congratulations on your little girl. I hate to tell Dan this but secretly I am almost desperate to have a baby. Only logic is holding me back. Two years and then the eggs are going to get fertilized. JK.

Send me your postal address so I can send your little Lee a coming home gift.

Be good

No Job??? yeckers January 14 2006, 00:11:24 UTC
So you finally decided to leave Hilton? I think that is great, are you going to hunt for something else and take your time? Did Dan move to a new company or is he still with the same one just a different position?

Greg and I are in Limbo right now. We have been in Portland, OR for the past week and are heading home tomorrow. We came out here to check out the area because the hospitals pay great the housing market sucks though. It is very high for a small house. So we have decided we are going to go back to Jax and he will work in the hospital there for a least a year and then we will revaluate our situation and decide what we want to do.

I on the other hand am going to try and leave FCCJ very soon. I do not want to stay with the school. I don't know what I am going to do but anything has got to be better. I feel worthless there. Problem is is working on the situation with my grandmother.

I am glad to hear you are well. Drop me an email sometime and i will send you a pic of my brothers new baby.

I totally understand the frustration with the housing market. Its a really smart idea to bide your time and save your money. Dan and I had been talking for most of our vacation about me leaving Hilton and I did give notice to leave on the 28th. They told me they needed me for a few weeks later so I stayed. They are lazy when it comes to replacing people. I secretly wish I could go over there and see what chaos is going on. Now they are missing two day receptionists (myself and a girl who left two months ago) and three people from the night staff. If they paid slightly more than the people who work counter at McDonalds, they might not have this problem. No one wants to work at Hilton because it truly awful. Awful. The policy, the bullshit, the people, the food, the hours, the etc. There is a vague possibility that I could get a job at the American Embassy which pays double what I made at Hilton. Cross your fingers for me. I'll keep you updated.

Gotta sleep. Its midnight.

Lots of Love,

Carrie
