What is the EMP, and where on earth was that photo of a glistening digestive tract of a room taken?

The EMP is part of the former EXPO compound. It's an abbreviation fpr the 'Experience Music Project', basically a rock museum and event venue. Great stuff and I was sincerely bummed that we didn't make it. It was always closed when we got there. I would've loved the 'Avatar' and 'Nirvana' expositions.

That bloody red room is situated in Seattle Public Library. It's a passage containing assembly- and classrooms. The whole library is a great place for all those architecturally inclined people all over the world *nods towards R'. Great, huh?

Ah, so that's its official name (EMP). We always refer to it as the Seattle Rock Museum - obviously completely incorrectly. Planning to visit it some day!

That colour, in that intensity, gives me the heebies! I wonder if the corridor in the basement below the red room is a particular shade of excrement-brown, to keep with the digestive-system theme....

No, it's just a regular old book depot. Which makes design stunts like this one stand out all the more. You just turn around a corner, stop and boggle o.O .

I was skeeved at first, too, but spent some more time in that area and came to love it. It was oddly invigorating.
