Title: Silent Collision
Author:
prettyorianna
Pairing: Akame.  Ryo x Kame.  Ueda x Junno.
Rating: NC-17.  Eventually.
Genre: crime drama?  AU story
Beta by: nobody
Disclaimer: I don't own the people.  I write this for fun and for other fans of these fine folks.  But don't steal my plots, mmkay?  I put a great deal of time into them except for when I'm randomly spastically spitting words onto a page.  But I value those too...
Summary:  Jin kills in self defense only to find himself a fugitive.  Along the way he meets a scared boy...
Warning: Character death(s).  Abuse, murder, gangs, kidnapping, etc etc.

Author's Note: This is fairly action-packed, incredibly sad at places, twisted at other place (sometimes those two being at the same place).  Pretty important chapter.

Chapter Eighteen ~The Gang~

While Kame slept, Jin continued to watch the news.  It was strange to follow his case and see how wrong they all were.  Someone made mention of Junno’s article and his subsequent murder with its distressing lack of evidence.  At least, as of yet, he wasn’t being charged with Junno and Ueda’s murders…

After a while, he just couldn’t watch anymore of it.

He slid off the bed, gently moving Kame’s head out of his lap in an effort to not wake the younger.  Kissing Kame’s forehead, Jin left the room on his way to get some supper for them.

Down at the ramen shop, while waiting on the food, Jin asked the owner, “Would you be interested in making some money?”

“Depends.  What do I have to do and is it illegal?”

Shaking his head, Jin said, “I need someone to go to the grocers and buy some stuff.  Toothpaste, toothbrushes, some staple foods, stuff like that.  I can give you a list and I’ll pay you…” and Jin tried to judge how long his money had to last him before continuing, “…seventy-five dollars for one trip?  If I tried to go, I’d get arrested for sure.”

“I guess I can do that, after closing.  The missus would kill me if I left her to run the place all by herself.”

A woman’s voice from across the room, “What’s that?”

“Nothing, dear!”

Jin laughed.  “I’ll come back by around closing, then.”  He paid for the food and headed back to the safehouse.

He was barely through the door when he felt a tiny prick at his neck and before he could fully register his surprise, the world had gone black.

+++

The thud of Jin and the food hitting the ground immediately woke Kame.  Jolting to a sitting position, he saw a dark-haired man, needle still in hand, and Jin on the floor right inside the door.  Oh, god, was he dead?  He couldn’t tell from where he was.

Caution thrown to the wind, Kame scrambled off the bed to Jin’s unmoving form.  He didn’t make it all the way there; the man with the black hair grabbed him around the waist and wouldn’t let go.  Kame elbowed him in the stomach as hard as he could, but it still didn’t cause the man to release him.  Jin couldn’t really be dead, could he?

In an extremely calm voice, the man said, “If you don’t settle down, I’ll have to knock you out, too.”

Did that mean Jin was only unconscious?  Please, let it be so!  Kame kept fighting, trying to get to Jin.

“So be it.”

And then Kame felt the man slip his other arm around his throat and suddenly he couldn’t breathe.  As Kame continued to fight, everything first went white around the edges and then darkness claimed him.

“You found WHAT!?” Yamashita was completely pissed.  It was already bad enough they had to move headquarters because that stupid obsession-sick man led the cops right to him.  Now his men were telling him they’d found Subaru’s body and it looked like he’d been tortured for information first.

It couldn’t be coincidence that earlier the same day, the man had come to him with information about Jin’s location.  Information that only he, Uchi, and Subaru now knew.  It had to be the hand of that assassin Nishikido-fucking-Ryo had hired.

Well, it was probably too late for Jin and Kamenashi.  Nakamaru had too much of a head start.  But it wasn’t too late to go pay Nishikido a visit and remind him somewhat fatally who he was messing with in his mad quest to get Kamenashi back.

To Uchi he said, “Get the leaders of every team that has even a single wetworks man on it.  Get them here now.  We’re loading up.”

“Where are we going?” Uchi asked.

“Nakamaru is supposed to bring Kamenashi to our former headquarters.  Nishikido will definitely be waiting there.  Tell them… tell them we hit at sunset and to have their tacticals ready at least an hour and a half early so I go over them.”

+++

Ryo supposed he could just take the unconscious Kame back to his house, but it wasn’t enough.  That man, the one who dared keep his Toy hidden away, needed to suffer.  He needed to see who Kame really belonged to.

Akanishi was slowly stirring awake.

To Nakamaru, Ryo said, “Cutting it a bit close, aren’t you?”

“You want to make him suffer; you need him awake.  I knew exactly what I was doing,” the assassin answered.

Nodding, Ryo said, “Fine, fine.  Hand me that knife, would you?”

Grabbing the hand of the just waking Jin, Ryo put it on the arm of the couch and with all his strength stabbed through the hand into the fabric and wood of the couch arm, shoving it deeply enough that the hilt of the knife was flush with the back of the man’s hand.

There, that ought to get Jin’s attention.

The scream of pain from a now fully awake Akanishi made Ryo smile.

“So, you’re the man who took my plaything.”

Jin was breathing hard, tears in his eyes, but he seemed to be mostly controlling his reaction to the pain after the initial scream and instead shouted, “Where is Kame?  What have you done to him?  Let me see him!”

Ryo didn’t answer.  He was calling the conversational shots and not Jin!  Growling, he hissed, “Did he please you?  Did you put those filthy hands of yours on him?”  And Ryo wiggled the knife pinning Jin’s hand to the couch.  The man grunted but did not scream again like Ryo wanted.  “DID YOU TOUCH HIM!?” Ryo shouted, moving the knife harder.

Defiantly, Jin shouted back, “WHERE IS HE?  WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM?”

Twice backhanding the man, hard enough he spit blood after the second time, Ryo said, “It’s time for you to learn who he really belongs to.”

“He…” Jin said through gritted teeth, “…doesn’t belong… to anyone… Least of all… you…”

“You’ll see…” Ryo hissed.  Grabbing the handle of the knife once more, he gave the thing a hard thirty-five degree twist and smiled as Jin screamed again.  Would it be too much to hope that the man never regain full use of that hand?

Though, it was probably irrelevant.  It wasn’t like Jin was going to live too much longer, maybe half a day at the very most.  Just long enough for him to suffer and to show him who the boy really belonged to and to show his Toy the price others had to pay for his misbehavior.

Speaking of his Toy, Ryo could hear him stirring in the corner they’d set his unconscious body in, leaned against the wall.  Gesturing with his head for Nakamaru to keep an eye on Jin, Ryo turned around and walked towards his plaything.

The boy slowly opened his eyes, rubbing the sleep out of them.  But then he spotted Ryo advancing on him and he tried frantically to back up but the only thing behind him was wall and he couldn’t go any further.

+++

Where was he?  The last thing Kame remembered was…

…but suddenly, it didn’t matter what the last thing he remembered was.  It didn’t matter because the present was so much more pressing.  Like something out of a nightmare, there He was, stalking purposefully and angrily towards Kame.

No, this couldn’t be happening!  Jin said he’d protect him!  Where was he?

Had… had He killed Jin?

But then Kame heard Jin’s voice, “Stay away from him or I swear I will end you!”

He just laughed and grabbed Kame’s arm, pulling him out of the corner towards the center of the room.

Kame struggled as hard as he could to get away from his former owner and to Jin’s side, but Ryo just ripped Kame’s shirt away from his body.  “Behave!” the man said sternly, throwing Kame the rest of the way down to the floor by the arm he had been holding.  A solid mid-body kick knocked the wind out of Kame and Ryo dropped down, kneeling on the younger’s chest to hold him down somewhat as he pulled Kame’s pants off.

“You’re hurting him!” Jin shouted.

“He’s mine.  I’m allowed to!  Isn’t that right, pet?”

Kame was sobbing as Ryo climbed off of him so that he could unzip and shove his own pants down enough to reveal his erect member.  As soon as Ryo’s weight was off of him, Kame tried again to scramble up and to Jin but Ryo grabbed his arm before he’d gotten far and pulled him back.

This… this just couldn’t be happening.  Kame didn’t want Him to touch him, didn’t want to feel that man inside of him.  Not now.  Not ever.  He belonged to Jin!  Only Jin was supposed to have him!  Trying his hardest to get away from the monster that held him, Kame took a deep breath…

“Jin!  Jiiin!!!”

+++

Everything seemed to stop for a second as Kame shouted his name, or at least something reasonable close.  And he kept shouting it, over and over again, as he tried to get away from Ryo.

Ryo jerked the boy back hard, throwing him to the ground, and stared kicking and hitting Kame.  “You!” he shrieked at Jin.  “YOU BROKE HIM!”  Kick to Kame’s stomach.  “DO YOU…” Blow to the head.  “…HAVE ANY IDEA…”  Another kick, a little higher that time.  “…HOW LONG IT TOOK…”  This time, a hard stomp to Kame’s left ribs.

And the whole time, Kame kept shouting Jin’s name.

“STOP!  YOU’RE HURTING HIM!” Jin couldn’t recall ever being more scared than he was in that second.  Not even when the house lit up around them had he been so afraid.  “Please, Kame!  Please, if you don’t stop, he’ll kill you!  PLEASE!”

Sobbing, Kame stopped calling out for Jin.

“That’s more like it,” Ryo grumbled.  Jin watched as Ryo grabbed Kame by the hair at the nape of his neck and positioned himself behind the younger.  Jin meanwhile was trying to pull the knife out of his hand.

“Please, I’m begging you!  Don’t do this to him!  Kame, I’m here.  I’m here.  Just…  Just look at me.  Don’t see him, don’t feel him!  Please!  Just see me, okay?  Kame, I love you!  I love you!”

Ryo didn’t stop and instead pushed hard into Kame.  “NO!” Jin cried out in an anguished sob.  “Kame, Kame, I love you!  Look at me!  I love…”

But he could see, in Kame’s eyes… something changed.  Something gave in.  The younger stopped struggling and his eyes went completely blank, though tears still ran down his face.

Jin finally got the knife out of his hand.  Before he could get up off the couch to attack Ryo with it, though, the other man, the one who had thus far not made so much as a sound, grabbed his wrist and twisted it sharply so the knife fell out of his grasp.

“Dead men can’t pay,” the man calmly said, retrieving the knife for himself.

The loud sound of a gunshot rang out and the dark-haired man put a hand to his chest.  When it came away bloody, he said in a curious but unsurprised voice, “Huh.  Guess it’s that time.”  He then dropped to the floor, either dead or not far from it.

“Dead men don’t need to be paid,” came a familiar voice from behind Jin.

Ryo rapidly zipped his pants and grabbed the now-docile Kame, fleeing out the opposite door as three teams of Manatsu’s finest swarmed into the room, led by Yamashita himself.  Barking out orders, he sent his men after Ryo and went himself to check on the body of the dark-haired man.

Without turning to look at Jin, Yamashita said, “I never thought we’d get the drop on Nakamaru.  He must have… enjoyed the… show…”

+++

Yamashita had intended to wait until Nakamaru left so they’d just have to deal with Ryo.  His men had taken their positions and he watched and waited.

He hadn’t intended on interfering with what Ryo was doing.  The smart thing would have been to wait until after the man had killed Jin and was leaving with his “Toy” and that was the plan he’d made.  But when he was watching everything unfold, he couldn’t help but notice…

Everything was distressingly familiar.

The boy’s dead eyes as Ryo took him were just like hers, when Yokoyama Yuu and his crew raped and murdered his fiancée.  Ryo had found them just in time to see her last moments as Yuu took her and then stabbed her.

It had all been over before he could stop her death; he was doomed to have seen it and been helpless, only able to clean up the mess after and hunt down each and every person who’d touched her.  And when he saw Kamenashi’s eyes just now, so like hers… somehow, he couldn’t let the same thing happen.  So he took a careful shot at Nakamaru, who was the largest threat in the room.

Hesitantly, Jin asked, “Why?”

“He killed Subaru.  We don’t like people who mess with our members, do we?”

A pause.  “We?”

Yamashita grunted.  “Yeah, we.  You, me, and the rest of Manatsu.”

“I thought I was out of…”

Grunting, Yamashita said, “Shut up.  Just… Yeah.  Maybe I understand where you’re at right now, okay?  I… don’t want to talk about it.  Okay, are you going after the boy?”  But he knew Jin would.  He’d known ever since he’d heard the first “I love you” Jin shouted.

Jin nodded.

“Let’s load up.  Do you know where Nishikido lives?  Because I do…”

+++

That had been entirely too close.  Once he got his Toy disciplined properly, Ryo was going after Manatsu.  He’d pay whatever it took to send every single other gang on the street after them, and the cops as well.

But first, now that they were back in his house, he had to teach his Toy a lesson.

Years ago, Ryo had installed a bar on the bedroom wall.  He tied Kame’s wrists together and then to the bar and pulled out the belt.  He had to give his arm an occasional rest but that aside, he spent the next hour beating Kame.  He probably would have stopped sooner, but the boy had started whispering Jin’s name again, over and over, until his voice gave out.

Then Ryo threw him on the bed and took him brutally.

And after he was done, he tied his Toy’s arms and legs to the bedposts and left him there.  By then, the bruised, bloody, and broken boy had passed out.  Ryo would have him wash all that blood off the sheets later when he regained consciousness.

+++

It was over.  He had been caught and that was it.  Jin was gone.  Kame didn’t hold out much hope that the man would find him.  Not there.

Now?  Now he belonged to Ryo again.  But…

He couldn’t.  He couldn’t go back to it.  He knew Ryo would change the door codes and would be more careful about letting him see the new codes entered.  It… it would be better to be dead.

Maybe he could goad his owner into killing him?  Calling Jin’s name had nearly done it earlier; maybe it would work now.  Make the man angry enough to beat him to death.  Then he’d be free…

Because Kame knew that was the only way it was going to happen.  Death was the only way he’d ever be free.

It was hard, trying to remind his lungs and throat and mouth how to form words, but just like earlier, he managed.  And he was right that it would infuriate Ryo.

Eventually, after the beating and sex were over, Kame passed out.  With any luck, he wouldn’t wake up.  He couldn’t do this anymore.  Jin had shown him a better world and he couldn’t go back to this.

Chapter Nineteen ~The Arrest~

A/N: Damn.  Now Ryo has Kame, Jin's left hand may or may not work anymore...

But the assassin Maru is dead.  And Jin's back in the gang and Yamapi knows where Ryo lives, so they can go get Kame.  If they can.

We shall see.

This was a hard frigging chapter to write, on par with the JunDa death.  And even months and months and months later, still very hard to read.
