must fight the urge to make Monty Python reference... valiar_marcus July 1 2011, 13:49:25 UTC
Should Muggles really understand what was going on, it would be worse than the Spanish Inquisition.

If Voldemort is stupid, he'll keep poking that hornet's next to his own peril. If he's smart, he'll stop now while they're merely puzzled but not scared.

At least we'd know what to do if they DO try to burn us at the stake, eh?

I doubt he'll listen to reason, not now anyhow if he's been so brazen enough to attack them and leave messages in his name.

Reasonable people also don't go around killing other people.

What news?

But it's been all over the-- Oh... forget it, you won't understand quickly enough.

The thing is, it seems that Voldemort's been killing muggles and leaving messages with his name on the walls or something, and the muggles have had their own police start to investigate.

[Why would you think she sees the Muggle news?]

That sounds like it will be spectacularly useless.

[His mistake, which he quickly realized, you see.]

Ah, but it's not entirely useless as you might think. The last time humans started taking magic seriously we had witch hunts taking place most everywhere.

Muggles today might think that magic is nothing more than a parlor trick, but if he is taking this to a higher level, they might start take notice. Hell, they're questioning how in hell those people died in Wiltshire and Essex, but they both have special messages from Voldemort on them.

I will not explain how I came to know, for it would take me some time.

However, it seems that Voldemort has taken a liking to killing muggles, and they have started noticing. Their own police forces have started investigating. Not like they will really understand what is going on, but the name "Voldemort" is starting to sound like that of a 'round-the-bend serial killer.

That's disgusting. Simply disgusting. Not only a murderer, but he doesn't have the common decency not to attack those who have no chance against him.

I suppose I don't need to tell you that, though.

What are you talking about, exactly?

Really?!

Christ...

Look, Voldemort's taken a liking toward killing muggles it seems. Same M.O. in two towns, at least.

Muggles are noticing, and they have taken it toward a national level, so the Ministry cannot possibly attempt to obliviate them all, lest something could go wrong with it.

What happened?

Two separate murder cases, one in Swindon, Wiltshire, and the second in Harlow, Essex.

Apparently the murderer left messages like, "Die Muggles. Beware the Dark Lord Voldemort." It can't be none other than he, or at least his cronies, is what I'm now starting to consider.

And it's all over the news, with most everyone having seen it. The Ministry can't obliviate the whole entire country, or could they?

I definitely haven't heard about that yet. But I don't think the Ministry can do that.

Yeah, see? They're screwed. Their whole team of obliviators might deal with a group of Muggles, but not the entire country.

But yes, these murders have them scratching their heads, but they're already starting to see his M.O., and think him a nut job for all these killings.
