Mostly for my own reference, this is what I ended up posting to the forum that's being run rather oddly.

I think that's very nicely and clearly put.

Ditto! And good on you for voicing your concern!

Thanks! I was sort of not planning to say anything, but then a newcomer to the forum spoke up about it and was immediately shot down.

That got my dander up and I figured I had to throw in my two cents. Phrased as diplomatically as I could manage, of course!

Thank you! I'm glad to hear that, I was riding herd on a seriously stoned cat while I was writing it, and after about the third attempt to read through it for coherency all I was seeing was blatherblatherblather!

My post is about halfway down this page. Looks like you'll need to register if you want to see anything though.

I just popped in for the first time since posting. The first response is from Derwin. (That seems to be his real name. Who names their kid that?) Lots and lots of words that I honestly haven't read yet but this sentence stood out:

Hmm. Quite the Sherlock Holmes, I see! LOL

Hmm. Quite the condescending jackass, I see.

This was not an unusual name among children when your parents were those. Also not unusual was that a Derwin would be better known by a nickname.
