Hostile AI and the Illusion of the Game World

Just a quick thought I had today while playing Hitman: Blood Money, but when game designers do not program enemy AI 'realistically,' it really does break the illusion of a world outside the game and forces the view of a player-centered world upon the player.

Nice. Actually, the lousy AI in Hitman: Blood Money reveals a bit about I/O's thoughts on America when you realize that almost all the cops in the game shoot first and ask questions later. Thanks guys, really.
