So, the art director left a message on my cell apologizing for the ever-sluggish process (she didn't say it quite that way). She wanted to let me know that she's just waiting for decisions to be made above her and as soon as she knows, she'll keep me posted. Ugh, the never-ending newspaper hiring process. I am sure it will be over soon...

I'm not sure what type of books you're looking for, but here are a few. I've been reading And the Band Played On by Randy Shilts for AGES (about the early days of the AIDS crisis) so I haven't picked up anything new in a while.

If you haven't gotten The Dive From Claussen's Pier by Ann Packer yet, get it. You'll love it. Same with these others I may have already recommended: The Time Traveler's Wife (Audrey Niffenegger) and Three Junes (Julia Glass). For light "chick-lit" style reading, I like anything by Jane Green or Maeve Binchy (especially Tara Road.) Middlesex, by Jeffrey Eugenides. I'll think - I am sure there are others.
