Ajsmith film club part one: GREATEST TV CARTOON EVER

Through the omni-pop-culture fog of irony and meta-referencing that has become standard conventions of youth-orientated animation over the past 2 decades, it's hard to get across just how strange, powerful and unprecendented this cartoon seemed midst of Hanna-Barbera repeats and Toy Tie-Ins of 1988.. But it still amazes..

Nice one. I'd never seen or, I think, heard of it before. This is a little surprising because I have an animation magazine from around that time featuring an interview with Ralph Bakshi. I'll try to dig it out.
