Strange Horizons: First Reading Period Redux

As of today, I've responded to all poetry submissions sent to Strange Horizons during the month of September. I'm pleased to say that I saw just under 200 submissions (as expected) and that the decision-making was challenging in the best of ways. I've long felt your real strength lies in prose, and while it's always wonderful to see your explorations in poetry, I'm absolutely thrilled that you've sold a short story!

The good sort in that I hit a steep learning curve and managed to keep up with it, or at least I hope I did! My next month on duty is likely to see less of a flood, as everyone has so much else to worry about in December than at most other times of the year. It'll be nice to choose more poems in my birthday-month, though. I always did like the hobbit tradition of giving gifts to others on one's birthday!

How do you submit? Might gather up some courage and read too much Coleridge before I do anything though.

Submission guidelines are here. It differs depending on whether you want to send poetry, fiction, or non-fiction, so click on the relevant link. This month, poetry submissions are being read by my co-editor Romie, in November, they're being read by my co-editor Sonya, and then in December it's back to me.
