I loved Zodiac.

I enjoyed it immensely! What surprises me most is the sense of humor it manages to keep the whole way through.

Zodiac was an engaging film, but too graphically violent for my taste.

I found it incredibly engaging, and incredibly funny in the most bizarre little ways. I had to avert my eyes for most of the killings; I was pretty much expecting extreme violence, amongst other things. Actually, it didn't turn out to be quite as violent as I had expected. Paranoia, though, it has in spades.

BTW, that Jann Arden song...I'll forever associate it with the mix you made for A Crown of Stars,

I listen to this song rather frequently, in an extremely varied array of moods and contexts. In spite of the bleakness, it's one of the most hopeful songs I know. It's...that you just have to pick up and keep walking no matter what's happening around you, I think. No pain is really too great to carry; we just think that a lot of the time. I'm not making a lot of sense right now; the movie was incredibly long, and I'm tired, and I'm feeling jittery about the fact that I blithely sent off a paper proposal written in one afternoon to a pair of big-shots at Dartmouth and Columbia respectively. I feel like my world's spinning out of control just a little bit lately. I'm putting things out in directions that are strange and unpredictable.

The case, while not one of my favorites, is certainly interesting. I haven't seen the film yet, but my primary reason for wanting to do so is to see Brian Cox play Melvin Belli. That just cracks me up, but it's perfect.

I think it's a great film. I didn't go in with any particular expectations, as I knew next to nothing about Zodiac to begin with. It's got an incredible, frank sense of humor, and the construction and build-up of the pervasive sense of paranoia are masterfully done.

Did you get the database working? Sorry I didn't mail you back, been a bit preoccupied, but I'll check if you haven't.

I got my password fixed, so I can log in again. I managed to email the guy and tell him what's going on with the keywords and annotation features.
