Sorry to hear you had a rough fast! It does sound like it was the fasting. I'm glad the rabbi knew to get you un-fasting given what he was seeing. One point for useful grounded rabbis. :)

if at the end of yom kippur, someone is making up reasons to be suspicious of why the baal korei nearly passed out, then they aren't doing yom kippur right.
more likely everyone else was also feeling a bit woozy, and understanding that you were too, and hoping you were alright.
