Offered Icon Making

Hey folks :)  I've decided that I need to make more icons, but as I can only have so many myself (and a lot fewer when LJ goes to unpaid) I thought I'd take requests.  It gives me something to do when fic muses aren't cooperating :P

So if you would like me to make you an icon, leave a comment with the following information.

Can I just ask, how do you go about making 100x100 icons? Or any size really? And what happens with credit/source issues? I mean, do you just use Kubo's work/screencaps from the anime, or other people's art? If the second, though I have seen it around anyway, so I guess the question still stands, how do you go about crediting them? Or...don't you?

This is how *I* do it. It's most definitely not the only way out there.

I use any and all source material. It's basically a matter of cropping and re-sizing. If I'm using something from a fan artist, I like to ask permission first. And I will give credit in the comment section of the icon upload.

This icon (points to Batman and Redhood) is a good example of giving credit.

Ooh, interesting. I may have to give it a shot :) Hmm... I want to learn how to create effects in photoshop too - I may have to do some hunting around for simple tutorials. Photoshop and I don't get along.

Ah I don't see the comment section? But I know that you can add a comment when you upload an icon, can't you?

Okay, gonna have to give it a go now :) After... I finish my work. Damn.

Yes, when you upload. Then the comment appears beside the icon when someone is looking at your user icons page.

I can try. I've never attempted using moving images as a source, but there is only one way to learn :)

The only real consideration with animated is that I need to keep it under 40kb as well is 100x100 pixels.
