hi, nrrrdy_grrrl sent me over because I've seen and read most of Bleach and get dewey eyed when people join me in the darkside of manga. because, well, Kon! There are some glorious manga out there, truly.
(although who told you about Damien killing and torturing animals, in the first inc which is in a slaughter house he adopts a cow, he later has a cat and a dog and is fierce in their defence, in fact the new 52 made me adore Dami and want to huggle and keep him, he was so happy with Dick, they made each other happy, Morrison has become a curse word in my house)
Kon is indeed love :) Pervert that he is. actually, there are a LOT of perverts in that manga/anime :P Some of it I'm amazed they got away with in a NA market.
As for Damian, that's what I read. Both in #0 (and I will NEVER get over whoever had the stupid idea that an eco-terrorist group would use the killing of tigers as "training") as well as his crushing the bat he caught in the cave. After that I rather gave up on the character.
I honestly don't know anything about the cow or the rest beyond what others have told me.
oh, i meant to ask, is bleach your "first" anime because there are actual slash anime, like just about anything by Clamp, Gravitation, Loveless, and that's not counting the yaoi ones which are explicit?
then there are the oneshot mangas which are never animated but are fiercely defended by fans http://mangafox.me/manga/sakura_gari/ the mangaka who wrote this wrote Fushigi Yugi and Ayashi no ceres - both popular anime aimed at girls (girl anime is more story based than boy anime like bleach which involves a lot of fighting) but I have plenty more if you want them
Bit late but welcome to the fandom! You're right, Bleach is very slashable, which is great, and Ichigo's pretty much got the potential to pair with anyway (really Ichigo, really?) so you're going to see a lot of variety in ship opinion in this fandom :)
To my knowledge the Bleach fandom on LJ isn't massive. Which is incredibly unfortunate. I would love to have someone to squeal over it with though :3
Well I usually squeal over people's LJ posts, if I can find them. I occasionally make one myself, and like you said, they don't make sense to most people on my flist - my other main fandom is the BBC Merlin fandom, see :) And I don't think I've found anyone else who likes both unfortunately.
As for betas, well, I'd just look for a beta in any ol fandom that doesn't mind doing anything. I mean, after all, the topic of content isn't the focus :3

I think I've got some people on my Flist that are Merlin fans and possibly ficcers, so let me see what I can do.
As for betas....I have...um....special needs? Basically I switch my tenses A LOT and have no ability to spot it myself, though I really do try. And it would be nice to have a beta that knows the fandom because I'm nervous about my character voices being OOC.

I rally need to start blogging about the chapters, which will probably make NO sense to the majority of my Flist.
I also need to find more Betas, especially ones that don't mind slashy situations.
So how do you like to squee? Over LJ? IMs? Other forums?
