Timmy Drabble

This was posted in response to a challenge(?) on someone's LJ.  I'm sorry, I don't remember who ^_^;; and since I'm only a Basic user I can't look back farther the then last 10 comments I made.  So I do apologize.

Anyhow, I figured I'd repost it here.  Cowardly Timmy Drabble

Characters: Tim, Dick
Rating: PG-13?
Summery: Tim reflects on what real bravery is.

It doesn’t require bravery to rush into a burning building or jump off a twenty story building.  Not really.  These are just things that are part of his life, things that don’t even register in his conscious mind any more.  In some ways engaging in such is a blessing, being something he can easily understand, deal with and rely on.  Of course there is the possibility of maiming or death, but he could be hit by a bus while crossing the street.

So, no, that didn’t make him brave.  It just makes him Robin.

If he were truly brave he’d get up from the chair, walk around the table that separated them and give Dick a hug.  Or maybe he’d stand up on his toes for a kiss.  Ever since he began his stalking routine of the dynamic duo, his heart has belonged to the vivacious acrobat.  It’s those smiling blue eyes that invade his dreams at night and it’s those strong hands he’d give anything to feel all over his body.

Yet when they are alone he can only pull into himself, going quiet and avoiding eye contact, terrified that his feelings might rediscovered and reviled.

So he stoically eats his pancakes and pretends he’s not watching the action of the man’s jaw.

When it comes right down to it, Tim isn’t brave, a secret shame that he simply has to live with.

I guess I should do one for Dick now :)
